    There's a rather "new" novel of Alexandre Dumas (which was discovered recently or at least translated in other language., he's the titan of French literature, wrote The Count of Monte Cristo and Three Musketeers etc.).

    In this novel (written in the 19 th century) he also writes about English people and their teeth. He says, that because of the way they use "th" in British English, over all those years, the teeths get deformed because the tongue presses against the teeths while "th".

    Oftopic but though it would be intresting.

    I think you're missing the inflection when Americans say something like that. It's more like: "oh, how quaint! A "real" royal! It's adorable that they still have those!" (all said while shoveling Doritos into their mouths of course.)

    I lived in UK for 3 years and actually nobody in US cares about whats going on in UK, while brits cares about US more than about UK. UK is just americas lapdog .

    On the other hand when the American president commands Britain into battle in this or that part of the world, the British prime minister is like: "aye, aye sir! How many legions do you need? Shall we send our elite special forces as well? Yes, sir, Mr. President!"

    That must be rather galling for you, what with your raging American inferiority complex and all.

    You give us your version and i'll give you the historical facts.

    This is gonna be good, especially good seeing as the Yanks have no history and spend all thier time on geneology websites praying that they have a an Irish or Scottish ancestor.

    My family have no tartan, but an American with the same surname found a link to a link that turned up a family tartan we never had for 400 years lol
