That's right Usyk put on a boxing clinic a masterclass from start to finish top notch stuff ring generalship footwork speed defense stamina all on point. He came out with a plan and executed it to perfection. This was to me one of the best displays of the sweet science in years a true ATG performance that would stand up in any era. Usyk now has a place as a HOF fighter and an ATG. What a performance!

    I agree 100%
And it’s not like AJ laid down. Made adjustments mid fight and worked the body and landed a few right hands to keep him honest. And despite the mental pressure he remained composed even though I thought he should have changed up to a plan B at some point. Assuming he had a plan B. And his gas tank was phenomenal considering his gassing out in the past.

I was so afraid he would be robbed. When i heard .... And The New I started screaming like a madman. My 7 and a 1/2 month old started crying and I got a sore throat and almost lost my voice from screaming

Let's be real. Jimmy Young was not an ATG but he beat Foreman after Foreman had his defangment against Ali. AJ left it in the ring back with Ruiz I, the way Jimmy died in the trenches, years back. Truth is, Usyk is just not that good, and now AJ ain't no more either.

Fully agree. Also, props to Joshua who fought his ass off, IMO. He could have folded several times and he never did. All props to him, too.

If a guy loses to a better fighter but tries his best, I won't dog him. Joshua tried as hard as he could, and had some moments.

USyK changes strategy depending on the opponent's one. Whatever it is.
    Fantastic fighter.

Usyk has had some great boxing people around him in his pro career. He had Don Turner and James Bashir with him for a while and he learned a lot. That was a great performance by Usyk I am just glad he wasn’t robbed on the scorecards. For some reason I love watching a Heavyweight southpaw with skills. Just something about it that looks so clinical.

Had a busy day with college football on but was able to catch the fight this afternoon. Glad I did. Was a damn good fight and both fighters deserve props for making it happen.

After all he has done as an Olympian, his Amateur pedigree, his run at cruiser and now what he did tonight….. that’s your opinion of him? He’s not that good? Or did I miss out on some sarcasm sometimes it’s hard in written word.

    Yes it is.

I mean this honestly -- I have a higher opinion of Joshua after this fight than I did before the fight took place. He showed a lot with his conditioning and how he performed in the bout, IMO.

What makes it even better is: 1) was the best AJ Ive ever seen. 2) Usyk went to AJ's house as a challenger should. 3) the fans turned out en masse and were a great crowd 4) The ref didn't help AJ. 5) The judges got it right and with no ridiculous scores.

This is the modern standard for how to do it right. Congratulations to all concerned and especially to the new Champ who showed evrybody how it's done.

Agree showed a lot of skill was timing usyk very well at points. Usyk tho didn't think he had the power to play in the HW pond but I'll eat my words didn't look out of place at all

Usyk looked a solid HW, I agree.

Joshua knew when Usyk had momentum and he was able to steal it back from him several times, I thought. In the 4th, 6th and 8th rounds in particular, I thought.

AJ landed a great right hook in the 6th round that hurt Usyk momentarily.

I think AJ fought a smart fight, he just didn't have all the tools in the kit. In the rematch, if I were his trainers, I would focus heavily on a power jab. He started throwing the jab in the 2nd round and it worked. But he got away from it and out went his chances, IMO.
