The big one this weekend on the continent is KSW 16, headlined by Pudz vs. Thompson, and Khalidov vs. Lindland. It's an awesome card, but the exciting Vasilevsky is also in action in Russia.

    Check it out here:

I grew up watching Pudz, it's a shame he's joined in with the MMA craze.

Pudz should go back to WSM. I admire his courage but there's not much he going to get out of this apart from a beating. Even James No chin Thompson should have enough to beat him. Then again you only have to look at Thompson to KO him. He's abysmal.

In James's defence, he's took on some pretty big fights; Broughton, Groves, Slice, Rogers & Overeem.

I think he's just lacked the right guidance, he was 12-2 at one point in his career with those losses coming against Tedoradze & Emelianenko (Aleksander).

Not sure how to call this one though, would love to see Pudz battle it out with Oli Thompson in a battle of the WSM competitors turning to MMA.

Nah. James has the fighting IQ of a rock. Nice guy. But he's thick as pig ****. And what's worse his chin is by far the WORST in the history of the sport. You only have to graze his chin and the guys out cold.

Well his chin doesn't seem too bad now. WAR THOMPSON!

(I joke, he's still a chinny guy, but decent win for him)

Pudzian is a legend in his sport and I admire the fact that hes looking for a newer challenge...As should everyone...

But he really is too big. He has wayy to much bulk... hence the early gassing. He whipped Thompsons ass in round 1 and even landed some great flush punches...

Pudzian needs to quit the weights and hit the treadmill if he wants to get serious.

That's not going to happen. As soon as Pudz looses any significant amount of weight he looses the one advantage that he has which is his raw strength.
The problem here is despite his physical talents you cannot expect years worth of strongman competitions to just translate into MMA just because he's a physical specimen. It would take a significant amount of time to retrain all those huge muscles and accustom his body to fighting when its natural inclination is strongman.
Personally i think Pudz has done very well all things considered. But he's not a mixed martial artist and he needs to back to his bread and butter which is strongman competitions.
