Valuev will win (deservedly). The only question is how. I think Oldyfield will fight cautiously enough to survive the full 12. But at some point age has to creep up and fighting a 7', 320 pound giant can be exhausting. We could see an exhausted Evander succumbing like Monte Barrett did - more from exhaustion and frustration than to a power shot. By the way, remember how Valuev used to be considered a joke? But lately he has beaten Ruiz (twice), Lyakhovich, Barrett (who was still useful in 2006), McCline and Donald. His loss to Chagaev was razor thin and my hunch is he will avenge that loss in 2009. Forget Haye and defintely forget Arreola. Valuev is the only boxer with a legit chance to defeat Wlad.
One judge (American) had the fight a draw. Two judges (Japanese and Scandanavian) had Valuev up by 5 and 2 points respectively. Nobody had Donald winning.
And what did I say ? I SAID HE WON ON PAPER OF CORRUPT REFEREES but real winner was Donald if it would have taken place not on Valuev's soil .
Ah, so the American, Japanese and Scandanavian judges were in the pocket of the American and German promoters of the Russian? Any chance Nicolay won a close fight with several tight rounds?
I'm sure you are smart enough to know that this doens work like that. MOst of the time judges (2 at least) are from another country. That doesnt prevent, in no ****ing way, a robbery. I call this "local decision" made by "non-local" judges. HAppens a lot. But yes, the fight was close.
I'll root for Holyfield. As i root for any guy fighting Valuev who is a complete farce. But he'll win a boring ud. As always...
That was odd. He sounded permanently drunk back then yet his speech has seemed to improve again :huh.
