    What?

He was eating solid shots from the opening bell. His "right" game plan was all "wrong" from the very beginning.

I don't think that's true. Elite speed, maybe. A great jab if he could learn how to use it properly, but that's about it. He's lacking so much in durability, general IQ and defence that his main assets are almost rendered useless.

He took them in the 1st 2 rounds pretty well and he won the rounds

Garcia did manage to time him and really it paid off in the 3rd but with a different game plan Garcia a counter puncher could still probably find a way to time him

i mean what would Khan do differently, be the counter puncher and make Garcia lead and get Garcia out of his comfort zone and have to come after Khan

i mena thats about the only adjustment i could think of

It was the wrong game plan.
That flatfooted toe to toe **** ain't for a guy like Khan.
Sure he can do it, but it don't suit him.

But Danny's Hook is also instant death Vs. Khan.
Garcia also takes shots but he has the chin that suits it.
Khan was getting hit with uppers, rights & Danny's excellent hook.

Personally I enjoyed watching HBO swallowing Khan's splooge only to have to spit it back out & take Danny's load in the face. **** Lampley with a spiked baseball bat.

Khan is just stupid as ****. He doesn't possess the true ring intelligence of an outstanding fighter. He's far too concerned with being a big fight draw and putting on entertaining fights because everyone around him tells him that's what the fans want. He should obviously be more concerned with his own longevity - why else continue boxing. He's surrounded by a bunch of cash obsessed dumb****s continually talking about superfights down the road and looking past guys like Garcia.

LOL making tough-guy faces and banging his gloves together while his legs look like they're made from jelly.

Garcia was throwing counter shots after Khans 1 or 2 shots on a frequent basis. Whether they landed or not was basically irrelevant. It made Khan realize that he couldn't throw 3 to 4 without major consequences. Khan was basically minimized to 1 to 2 shots and move. We all know that Khan can't throw 1 shot and slip because he doesn't have the power to do so and demand respect. The fact that Garcia countered a 2 punch combination validates my point. All the props goes to Garcia for giving Khan no options on how to fight him.

Agree with the OP. Although Khan could've survived longer - if in round 4 he fought more intelligently rather than trying to bang his way out of trouble while on bambi legs.

I agree, most likely would've got caught again anyway

They were hurting him from the beginning, and yes you're right Garcia showed great timing early to indicate that he would have been able to counter Khan fighting any particular style.

That's one adjustment, basically what I've been saying, use his jab to set his range and dictate the whole fight. Only throwing 1's, when suitable 1-2's, on turning Garcia lead with 3's, might be able to follow it with a 2, or slip Garcia's wide 3 and counter with a 2. Only come inside with a high close guard to counter the wider punching Garcia either to the body or short 4's. Basically stick and move the entire fight to win rounds, in his case he can't be looking to hurt Garcia. That's what he wanted to do and that's why he lost.

Despite Garcia's timing, he is slow and wide and with Khan's speed he could get away with sticking and moving all fight, accumulating enough clean punches to win rounds. He had no lateral movement, and was sitting down way too much.

That's what I'm saying, not to look for combination punching, but to stick and move. Two punches at most all night.

Khan can throw 1 shot and move, that was his only hope, not to hurt Garcia but score clean punches and win rounds. He has the conditioning and technical ability to set the range and dictate movement with his jab, regardless of his poor power.
