This wilder situation

Make a list of all these great fighters he should be facing next.

The Ring top 10, excluding Wilder, is Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz, Luis Ortiz, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte, Adam Kownacki and Kubrat Pulev.

How many of them will be called shot if Wilder stops them? How many of them are over the hill if Wilder stops them? How many will be accused of having a bad chin if Wilder stops them? Which one of them hasn't been on the deck one or more times already?

Is Kownacki the only one?

I know the Wilder-Kownacki fight has been brought up on this board, and people bashed that, too.

Admit it. Wilder could fight anyone in the top 10, and if he knocked them out, you'd bash them for being shot or over the hill or chinny or not prime or anything else.

Hell, he could waste Usyk, and people would say Usyk was just a cruiserweight and Usyk's prime had passed.

Wilder has the power to stop anyone. That's the bottom line.

 

Mayorga never took the path of least resistance either. Look at Wilder's resume and pretty much at any point in the timeline of his career you could of made a much better realistic fight at the time of any given fight but he never wanted to. He didn't even want to chance his arm against Seth ****ing Mitchell on the way up through the rankings.

 

People wanted him to fight Whyte. He refused despite him being his number 1 ranked contender for what seems like an age. He's been on a good run and deserved his shot.

I don't know what his status is now so it's hard to make a judgement on it right now but there was plenty of time for Wilder to have fought him before and despite being a massive favourite in that fight he simply didn't want that work. Only he knows why.

 

Deontay Wilder has been the WBC heavyweight champion for five years. He's made 10 successful heavyweight title defenses in a row. He's got the highest KO percentage of any boxer who has ever held a heavyweight title. He's a monster.

And the morning after he wasted the #6 Ring contender with a single shot ... his second highlight reel KO of the year ... your complaint is he didn't fight Seth Mitchell on the way up? (LOL)

I think you guys need to throw in the towel.

I don’t mind Wilder but I hope he comes up short when he finally faces the top guys. I don’t want a poor boxer with a powerful punch to be the best of the era.

 

I'm explaining that as a contender he took the path of least resistance and that alone makes any comparison to Mayorga invalid. I'm not surprised that you didn't understand the point of that post though as it requires a semblance of intelligence you've thus far been yet to demonstrate on these boards.

Ortiz is old and not capable of concentrating for 12, was always going to give Wilder an opening for the right hand, Wilder just had to bide his time. We know Wilder is limited, can be hurt, but carries a goodnight stick with the right. Bigger tests are going to come and I doubt Wilder passes them.

Hey I love Big George as much as the next bloke but I just don't know how he would react to taking one of Wilder's right hands, the man is that dangerous.

 

The fact that fighters aren't taking on all comers is the fans fault! An example of this, AJ loses to Ruiz, a decent, sneaky fighter with good timing and good power. Fans are now claiming that AJ was never really that good and if he loses the rematch his career is over. Dude isn't 30 years old and still in his physical prime. And we wonder why the best don't fight the best?

 

Path of least resistance=that fat pos Fury's career

 

His route to the Wlad fight was a very weak one but at least he dethroned the actual man in his division and did it away from home.

His wins over Chisora, Cunningham and Hammer are also waaaay better than anything Wilder ever had as a contender and he voluntarily wanted to fight Haye in what was seen as a dangerous fight for him in which he would of been the underdog but you're right in that he has too often taken an easier path.

He weirdly ducked Price and Ustinov on the way up then a Wlad rematch.

How any of that helps Wilder though I don't know.

 

The problem isn't with the fighting its what he lies and manipulates all the time . He hasn't figured that out that most hard core fans know what he does and what is that exactly ?The list is long but here since you created the thread and I know I missed some and in no order .

1. Planned on avoiding Wlad Klitschko.
2. Had help from actual refs saving him early on,on the canvas even walked him to his corner.
3. Picked the least likely to defeat him as soon as he became champion even skipped Jennings when he defeated Szpilka in 2015 or whatever.
4. Called the enire U/K country racist at one point bc he was mentally unstable after AJ got that Wlad win he avoided .
5. Flat out refuse any AJ unification/undisputed fight turning down ALL together nearly 150 million in total with Hearn offers to fight guys.
6. This guy recently said he would fight FLY weights to show how great he is bc no one is doing it ?Yea this is a HW champion . lmbo
7. What type of tough guys support ANY grown man who says he wants to get impregnated , how does this guy actually mock fighters for losing after that one?

8. Fury won the last fight ,what more needs to be said froma known liar saying he ducked the rematch bc he refused to do a U.K fight ?

You know I could keep going here and also include other things some may not know but...seriously ,you cant defend this man unless you're his relative! @getreal

 

Foreman wasn’t this great skillful tactician...he threw slow wild shots, looked sloppy, vulnerable, and plodding at times. Other times he looked great, just like these guys do. Foreman did have a fantastic uppercut that be problematic but he was overly aggressive and might get KTFO before he was able to showcase his punch variety.
