Historically, Rivalry, **** you to the Commissions, Organizations, HBO, Bob Arum, and every corrupt official.

But most importantly, it was for his own justice.

Juan Manuel Marquez is an ATG.. He has become a legend, a living legend, especially in Mexico.

But JMM is the type a fighter the Networks, Commissions, and Promoters (like in Marquez' case) exploit. He is a fighter that only the true Hardcore boxing fan can truly appreciate in its full form... The science behind his style, his technique, his ring IQ, only understood by real fans.

So there is not as much investment in him, because there are fighters who are more marketable despite them being lesser fighter, like Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao, etc...

They rob him so he doesn't become a spoiler, they low ball him, because he knows they make the decisions, he has to endure humiliating situations like his disgrace with Chris John, from the pay, to the robbery....

JMM has fought and beat everyone, except for Mayweather. He never ducked anyone. He never said no to a fight because of size, money, testing, etc... He fought young, seasoned, atg's, P4Pers, anyone and everyone...

But Marquez was robbed of early retirement. He knew he had gotten robbed multiple times, and when he realized he was robbed out of pure greed, probably sometime after the 2nd fight, he knew he would do anything to right that wrong.

JMM went on to completely outbox and humiliate Pac in the 3rd fight, and to JMM's surprise he was Robbed, again, despite the schooling administered!

So he gets the 4th fight, and he knows that he has everything against him, including benefit of the doubt, because he needs to perform even better than the 3rd fight. He is also older, he has the judges already against him in his eyes, he knows Bob Arum wants Pac to win because Arum is a greedy ****, and JMM knows Arum is corrupt, in fact he has no doubts about it. JMM understands Pacquiao vs Mayweather needs to be made according to the Boxing industry, he knows its the richest fight ever... His fans are counting on him, he has an entire country on his back, counting on him... Did you see how many were there for JMM? Not the celebrities, but the masses, it was ALL JMM, so it seemed...

He was getting only 6mil, compared to the 26+ MILLION the man he had beat 3 previous times according to him, and me, and most hardcore fans...

So at the ripe old age of 39, he trains on how he was going to finish Pac's career once and for all. There is even a video on how he was going to KO Pacquiao, and he executes the plan to the T. He did to Pac what Pac could never do to him, and what no one through many divisions and many title fights could do, (Yes, most of those were strategically picked by Top Rank to make Pac look amazing) but that is the point, despite him being a cherry pick, he said **** you to Pac, Arum, HBO, the Commissions, and all the corrupt ****s that ruin our sport and he destroyed any idea of the biggest, richest, most lucrative fight ever hyped.... And in the process, he became the King of boxing. Yes, Mayweather is the best of the best as far as skills and talent go, he is the P4P#1, but JMM at #2 is probably very beloved most by those who love this sport and have a passion for it...

    Great job champ!!!!!

Marquez has to be the most famous athlete in Mexico. Bigger than Hernandez or Dos Santos surely?

it's almost 2 am here in the west coast and i still can't sleep. mixed emotions and just reflecting that in one week's time we have seen the end of an era where both cotto and pacquiao are looking like their best days are behind them. i'll truly feel old when marquez and mayweather get their beat down. it's a right of passage for fighters to look bad as they age. no one beats father time. i won't even mention morales getting koed by danny garcia because he has not been relevant for years now.

He finally is. This was his moment and he delivered. Everyone expected him to represent well... He showed the masses he was a better fighter than Pac in the 3rd fight, Pac who destroyed a Morales and Barrera, and De La Hoya (Albeit past prime and/or shot, but Casuals hardly know about that), so people paid close attention to this fight and he more than delivered!! It wouldn't surprise me if He is right now in the eyes of Mexicans today the greatest Mexican fighter Mexico has ever had... Sure to us Hardcore fans we know that it can be easily debatable.... But I can't wait to see how much he cements his Legacy in Mexico after this.

It's not on the money, it's a shitty post. You don't have to disrespect Pac to give JMM his props, and styles make fights. I still want to see Pac fight Mayweather.

As great as JMM is, I don't think ANY fighter can overtake JC Superstar in Mexico.

This s about JMM and his boxing experience, if you can't deal with truth than **** off this thread bro. :hi:

JMM has always been better than Pacquiao, that was JMM's mission these last 8 long years of his career.

    He proved it tonight.

I am glad someone else said it first. This was a garbage post that was filled with the fan fiction of Isal.

Marquez did a great job tonight; more importantly, he was the first of either fighter to get a definitive win. However, just because JMM performed doesn't mean that Pac should be degraded...

Isal does nothing but denigrate Marquez with this crap.
