I'll tell you who's a real "arsehole." This thread-starter. I always thought everyone just ignored the Zab hype? He had tons of talent and potential but he threw it away. What's there to say?
He out boxed Tszyu for one round but if you watch the 2nd Tszyu was getting stronger and catching Zab now and again before he closed the show. He has shown he can be competitive for a few rounds against elite opposition but the top fighters always seem to break him down eventually.
He beat some very good fighters... also, no "C class" fighter takes rounds off a prime Floyd Mayweather - fact.
Has anyone been watching Zab lately? He hasn't looked too good. You would think this was 2004 by the way people make it sound.
Zab was an outstanding talent. Particularly in the amateurs. Hell, he was sparring with Pea before he even made it pro. He just didn't have the mental aspect to go with all of his gifts. Don't call him C class though. That's just not true. He might be now, but he was great for a time.
He was never above a Class B fighter. He has no Chin or heart. He got hype because he was from NY. Had he been from oh say Illinois we would have never heard of him.
actually as an amateur Zab didn't qualify for the US olympic team because David Diaz was better than him
Hate Zab so much watch Tszyu/Judah. Anywho Zab was one of the many fighters that never lived up to their potentials but this guy has pretty good fights(Cotto, Tszyu, Ward, Mayweather, Clottey, Spinks) and will fight anybody. As a fan I truly appreciate his willingness to fight the best but am disappointed he let his ego get in his way of being great. Don't get mad at Judah save that anger for something else like how people choose to spend other people's tax dollars.
I agree all I hear is oh hes so skilled well lets see he has fast hands and some decent power then where is his skills ? He doesnt jab, doesnt put together combos, only throws accurate punches with his left and he telegraphs the hell out of that uppercut, has **** stamina even though he has no workrate and cant take a great punch. The guys claims to fame where taking 2 chances to beat a weight drained B level Cory Spinks, a green B level Junior Witter who ran away all night and then its a resume of bums. Cotto whopped him, Mayweather whooped him, Spinks beat him and even ****ing dropped him, Clottey beat him up and made him quit and Tszyu made him look drunk by KTFO him. My biggest problem is all the chances he gets. Ok Jan 06 loses and gets badly hurt by Baldomir a club fighter numerous times. Then his reward is a PPV title fight with the # 1 p4p fighter in Floyd Mayweather. Floyd dominates him from the 5th round on and Judah even trys to take an easy way out by throwing a terrible lowblow. Judah gets suspended for that comes back and his reward is another PPV title shot with Miguel Cotto. Well Cotto dominates him and stops him then Judah decisions to no names and his reward is a PPV fight with Shane Mosley. Well Judah ruins that by falling through a glass shower door and that earns him a Championship fight with Clottey who beats him and makes him quit. 2 bums later and now Judah is in talks for a title shot at 140 a weight class he aint seen in 6 years. ****ing pathetic America really loves people who talk **** and dont back it up.
Yeah its enraging the way idiots are still on the Judah hype train despite the fact that he has never really beaten anyone and has lost every time he has stepped up. Everytime a flashy black fighter who lacks ticker comes along they "have so much talent" and could have gone "so far" if they didn't have >insert fundamental flaw that would make them an entirely different person/fighter<. If a guy has fast hands and poor stamina/ring intelligence he is an underachiever, if a guy takes a lot of punches and is relentless but crude he is an overachiever etc etc, its completely stupid specific styles get grossly overrated based on abstract what could have been theories. Judah has absolutely sucked for the last few years and would get molested by anyone remotely world class, yet people talk about him as though he would still give elite fighters a run. He was never great. He was B class at his best.
ha ha just like Clottey would beat Pac? Judah has trouble with just about everyone but his speed and talent make him give great fighters trouble as well....for awhile. he doesn't belong in the equation until he beats someone better than a D level fighter again undefeated in St Louis......ha ha.......I hope he fights Alexander, who will kick his ass sideways
