I had Adames squeaking out a close decision. But, neither fighter really deserved a win. They both stank on hot ice. I never want to watch either of them fight again.
No doubt, I've been saying that for years. It still doesn't make Adames any better though, he should have three losses on his record, Gausha and Derevyanchenko both beat him clearly.
Scored it a draw and felt it wasn't that hard to arrive at the card. Tough for me to give Adames any of the first four, and I thought Sheeraz took the final two as well.
i'm going to rewatch it in the next couple of days. How on earth could the british forum have it so different to this forum? Quite amazing. Will let you lot know what I think.
A lot of people on the British forum don't seem to score fights. Just check out the round by rounds. You don't see many people posting their scorecards. They'll usually just make a general comment on the action in the ring rather than giving their round by round score. When just watching and not scoring, you pick a winner by a general feel over the 12 rounds rather than watching more eagle eyed when scoring round by round. I can see why many there felt that Adames' won as he was attacking constantly whilst Sheeraz didn't look like he was doing much. The lack of action makes you switch off. However, if you didn't fall asleep and watched carefully, you'll see that Adames' barely landed a glove on Sheeraz early on as Sheeraz controlled distance well and kept Adames' at the end did his jab. It was crap to watch, but those early rounds were clearly Sheeraz's. I've done it myself; watched a fight without scoring, then watched it again when scoring round by round and I'll often have a different winner.
I rewatched yesterday i had 1-4 for Sheeraz 5-10 for Adames 11 for Sheeraz 12 for Adames 7-5 Adames Rounds 2 and 12 are swingy - i can see a draw but cannot see a Sheeraz win, that just didnt happen.
It was a massive robbery, for the 'Saudi Ambassador'. The commentary were terribly biased for Sheeraz in the first 4 rounds when in reality he did nothing, Sheeraz was stepping up from domestic level to World level, And he just didn't know what to do, he was clueless and a robotic statue with no Ring IQ or inside game. He fought scared like a deer in the headlights, with no urgency. It was laughable how he was trying to nick rounds from the champion. At no point in any of the fight did he seem like he was ripping the title from the champion. Adames got into his rhythm and was sharp, fluid and confident with nice head movement, He controlled everything, landed the cleaner shots and looked every bit the defending champion. Adames won the fight clearly and badly exposed Sheeraz. Turki clearly paid off 2 judges before the fight, they desperately wanted him to win, imagine how ridiculous the scorecards would have been if the fight had been competitive! Crazy corruption
Duke Mckenzie ''Adames won the fight by at least 8 rounds, decisions like that give boxing a bad name. It’s one of the worst decisions I’ve seen in world boxing. It was a terrible decision, I had Adames winning comfortably’’ Gareth Davies ‘’I scored it wide for Adames by 6 rounds, 9 rounds to 3'' Barry Mcguigan ‘’I had 118-112’’ ‘’ Bonkers, just crazy decision’’ Spencer Oliver ‘’I had Carlos Adames a clear winner’’ Ade Oladipo ‘’I don’t know how the judges scored that a draw, the two judges need to look at themselves, Carlos Adames won that fight, the robbery puts a sour taste in your mouth, Hamzah Sheeraz knows he lost that fight’’ Sam Jones ‘’Sheeraz knows he never won that fight, he was soundly outpointed, it was a ridiculous decision'' Carl Froch ‘’He came up short, Carlos Adames was too much for him’’ Adam Catterall ‘’I had it 116-112, for someone to give 7 rounds to Hamzah Sheeraz, come on man.. It just didn’t happen’’ Eddie Hearn ‘’I thought Adames won by 2 or 3 rounds’' Simon Jordan ‘’He’s very fortunate to have got a draw’' Josh Warrington ‘’He had a real rub of the green, he’s really lucky to have got the draw there’’ Frank Warren ‘’we were lucky to get a draw’’ (Sheeraz's promoter, in his most recent interview) Ricky Funez (Sheeraz’s own trainer in the final rounds to Sheeraz) ’’ You have to knock him out to win’’ Blue Collar Sports TV ‘’9 rounds to 3, clear Adames win’’ PunshDrunkBoxing ‘’Carlos Adames won that hands down, it was all Carlos Adames’’ The YB Boxing '' Adames won 10 rounds to 2, I struggled to give Sheeraz 2 rounds, he won 3 rounds at best. Biggest robbery I've witnessed in person''
