Poor Hearns.... Another all time great boxer a victim to boxing politics, and not knowing how to manage his money. It has happened to many all time greats....

I would hate to see him in the ring against Tarver, he would get killed.

Gerry Cooney managed to hang on to most of his money, and he is nowhere near the caliber of a Tommy Hearns.

Thomas Hearns would love that. Tommy has always wanted a rematch with Hagler. That would bring Tommy and Marvin back in the spotlight and make them both feel young. Hearns would welcome Marvin to come back.

I hope I'm not wrong, but Marvellous seems a smart man and doesn't seem to need the money. He's also talking well and thinking well enough to help with boxing analysis on tv from time to time.

Tommy doesn't seem to be or is doing any of those things. He's one of my favourite fighters and I hope he can sort out his finances another way. Or I hope he was kidding around.

Tarver lied about the headbutt and tried to lie about the legit knockdown even while the video was playing.

Hearns has had a longer career than Marvin in away, and yet ironically they will probably both retire with 67 fights.. Hearns is 61-5-1 and Marvin is 62-3-2.
Marvin would not come out of retirement. He has been retired for 23 years believe it or not. I was just reacting to someone's comment about Hearns and Hagler.
Hagler vs. Hearns at this point in 2010 would not resemble anything like the fight 25 years ago. The result would have no impact on either man's greatness.

Friggin' sad. This guy made tens of millions of dollars in his career. Come on.

I don't understand either. It is too bad. Hearns or Duran or Leonard and Hagler earned so much none of them should have money problems.

I'll never know how boxers who make like £30mil+ in a career somehow become broke...

I blame it on Hip Hop baller culture extravagance mentality :nut. But seriously, Tarver STILL has enough skills to beat down this antique legend. Stay down Hitman.
