Hitman was my boy back in the day. i was at a CC telecast of Cuevas v. Hearns at the Forum in L.A. A riot erupted after Hearns Koed him in the 2nd.
I still feel Hearns was so far ahead against Leonard the ref should have let him continue. Yes he was hurt and hurt bad, but he was way ahead and only a KO saved Sugar Ray.
If you really wanna spit nails watch Hearns v. Leonard 2. they gave Leonard a draw when there was no F'n way that fight was a draw. As far as the fight with Hagler went, great action, but you can tell Tommy never had his legs in the fight. But there were some killer bombs being thrown. Long live Tommy Hearns!

He beat up Duran like he was showing a pimp hand to one of his hoes, gotta love him for that.

Hearns was the best junior middle ever and one of the best welters.

His chin wasn't that bad, the shots from Hagler and Barkley would likely have KOd anyone abd he beats SRL over 12 rounds every time.

I think Mike McCallum would have posed a serious threat to Hearns at 154.

McCallum was good, but prime Hearns would find the right balance of boxing and bombing to keep him at bay. Not an easy night, though.

On his best night prime hearns beats all at 147 - 154.
