October 1987 WBC champ Hearns vs. IBF champ Czyz in a title unification.

    Who wins?

What's with putting Hearns against all these guys that are much heavier than his ideal weight?

That said, I'd pick Czyz. A good boxer (he was outlanding Holyfield for large portions of their fight) with a great chin and heart. Hearns would have to stick and move because I doubt he has the power to move Czyz who outweighs him by a lot.

    Hearns by mid rounds stoppage

He'd better jab and move though.

If he let Bobby bull him to the ropes a lot, Bobby could land a big shot and hurt him.

I think Hearns would keep Bobby on the outside and bust him up.

I don't know...I can see Czyz imposing his superior natural size and wearing Hearns down for a decision win, or I can see Tommy outboxing Bobby over the duration.
Hearns hit hard enough to certainly get Czyz' respect.

What the hell...I'll plump for Hearns. Czyz was good but nothing particularly special. Tommy can outbox him, no problem. He beat a superior boxer in Hill, though Hill did not press the action as Czyz would.
But still...Hearns was very good at 175 and could punch. He takes it, imo.

I'm leaning towards Hearns. Looking at all the shots that Prince Charles and Virgil Hill landed at will on Czyz and the cuts that were opened on his face as a result, it reeks like a hitman job.

Hearns chops him up to win via mid-rounds TKO, then Czyz blames the loss on his bad back.

Damn, so folks think Hearns can stop Czyz? Czyz took Holyfield's best and came back for more :huh I could see Hearns UD him though.

I like Hearns. This bout could've finally came off at Cruiserweight around '92 or so but Hearns lost to Barkley and Czyz stopped defending his WBA Cruiser strap for whatever reason.

Hearns looked pretty tasty at Light Heavy against Denis Andries that year so I don't think the natural size of the two men will come into it.

    Hearns by late stoppage.

The bout could have happened in the mid to late 80's, Czyz wanted it buy Hearns who won a portion of the lightheavy weight title vs Dennis Andries wasn't to anxious to test himself at 175 lbs against a better fighter than Andries at the time. Hearns went back to 160.

Bobby was a really good light heavyweight.
I think history underrates his ability.
Czyz imo stops the version of Hearns that beat Andries.

Bobby quits on his stool. He tended to do this when things weren't going his way, and Tommy would bust him up enough to discourage him.

Czyz by upset stoppage in 13th round. He would make it more of a fight than Tommy would want.

Czyz was a media darling who fell apart in his first true test. I do not see him beating Hearns. Bobby was never in that league.
