It would be an amusing picture with the height disparity. I hate to count out Carmen Basillio because he was dirt tough and had some understated skills. Tommy at 154 is just a tall order no pun intended. I think Hearns attacks Basillio the same way he did Duran and dominates. Maybe he doesn't KO him as cleanly as he did Duran but it would be one sided.
i agree. this is a terrible mismatch. Tommy's jab eats away at little Carmen's face who doesnt know how to do anything but come forward. His toughness is to be admired but doesnt have the body to go along with it. Tommy finally lays him out face first at 6 rounds of terrible punishment
I agree that Hearns would win but I don't see Basilio getting stopped, unless it was on cuts maybe. Anything's possible, if course, and if Hearns could KO Duran then he could theoretically do the same to Basilio. I just don't think he would.
