Hearns late TKO. I always thought people favoured McClellan way too easily against Hearns. First off, you can find sparring footages of the two on youtube, and see Hearns piecing McClellan up. Second, McClellan was a front-runner who was matched up with weak chinned sluggers by Don King to pad his record, he had the talent but nowhere near the experience of somebody like Barkley, he ain’t stopping Hearns early and he is not winning a drawn out fight either.
Hearns used to spar with Gerald back when Hearns was a Super middleweight and past his prime. There is footage of it. Neither was going all out though.
The sparring session between the 2 was very respectful and light. Wish there was some film of these two going hard in the gym. Thomas is such a beautiful boxer in this session. Hes obviously working on his defense. Beautiful head and shoulder movements and his fainting is top notch. He also has some of the best fast twich muscle I've ever seen. Now as far as these 2 fighting it's a really tough call some great posts made for each fighter. I absolutely believe Hearns is the better more talented fighter but it only takes one shot. Hearns has all the heart in the world but once he's tagged hard he just doesn't seem to fully recover. Styles make the fight and I think Hearns gets tagged badly at some point and the ref will have to save him from himself. McClellan by TKO
