It is no pick-em. Jackson maybe gets lucky once if they fight 20 times, but 50% of the time he would get blown away within three rounds; and the rest would be worse as he bravely takes a licking before getting stopped in the middle rounds. Hearns KO3.
Jackson absolutely would have a punchers chance, but Tommy was a couple notches above as an overall fighter. I'd say Hearns gets him in about 5.
Jackson has the punch to kill Hearn's but it's unlikely, not just because Hearn's is the smoother operator here, but because Jackson was not great at getting himself in position against the boxers. If you swarmed Hearn's it bothered him, Jackson did not press fighters and that would give a boxing Hearn's the time and space to map out his right cross. Then game over.
Not a toss-up. Hearns is far too skilled, too rangy with an excellent jab and fantastic power and also at 154 he was superb. Hearns ices him inside 2. Lol at anyone who picks a decision.
It troubles me to think about Tommy's chin and Julian's powerful fists in the same ring. I do think Hearns could be winning the match until that unlucky punch to the chin or ribs. Tommy would have to get him rather early.
2 of the hardest hitters p4p in boxing history, mmmmm..... Hearns would be aware of Jacksons power & would outbox Jackson for 4 or 5 rds avoiding Julians big bombs while softening him up then just as the frustration builds up & Jackson comes forward reckless... BOOM... big right hand by Hearns. Hearns KO6 Jackson
