i give chavez a chance here. He is one of the best fighters of the last decade. A brillaint inside fighter used intelligent pressure. Had true grit and mental strength. had a pretty decent chin. Did i mention the chance i give him is no chance. Hearns KO2 or 3

There would be a nice dent in the canvas courtesy of Chavez's head falling face first from a product of a Motor City Cobra right hand.

What made you think of this matchup???

By the way Chavez doesnt matchup good all against Hearns(i would think you would know that)
However he might last longer than most of you think i agree with Sweet scientist i think a prime Chavez goes at least a few rounds and around the time he starts to open up on Hearns he gets nailed and then its a matter of time. Hearns tko 6,7

Hey everybody how about Delahoya vs Naseem at Lightweight.

...or how about Ricardo Lopez and Roy Jones Jr. at a catch weight of 133 pounds.

If he doesn't get KO'd due to his chin, he'll still quit around the 8th-9th rounds.

I saw this thread and didn't recognize it, yet I made the thread. Looks like over a year ago. Tommy would win.

To be fair, "decent chin" is a bit of an under-statement.

I don't think its a given Hearns kos a Chavez on top form whos tightening up his defense and being cautious, if he doesnt get KO'd and he can slip in and out while working the body he could make it hard going for a weight drained Hearns down the stretch

Who rates higher P4P? I'd go with Hearns

Chavez wouldn't hear the bell for round three. Total mismatch.

Cuevas and duran both had and have more chance of beating hearns than mister chavez. (great though he is up to 140.)
At 147 there are stacks of fighters who beat JCC.
I dont know why,but some super great fighters just cannot compete above their 'best' weights.

Thomas coldcocks Julio in 28 seconds, and he wakes up with Pipino Cuevas consoling him.

Chavez has a 1% chance of catching Hearns with some "crazy ****" as Manny Steward would say, either Hearns K.O's him early or the ref stops due to Chavez having a pizza face.
