People tend to have selective memory when it comes to these types of matchups.

Scientiest is partly right. The Chavez that fought Whitaker was 20X in better shape than the 154 lbs Duran that fought Hearns.

.......and another thing that not taken into account is that a 147 lbs Hearns was not built for the long haul of a fight with a prime fighter.

.......my point is that its ridiculous to dismiss Chavez by pointing to Hearns KO'ing a bloated 154 lbs undertrained Roberto Duran.

I'm a JCC fan but Hearns would vaporize him. Hearns could be had at 160 and above but his physical attributes, tools and pedigree made him almost unstoppable at 154 and below.

Don't forget about Valuev-Pacman at catchweight 185...all sorts of plots and subplots there. It would look like Bolo was fighting a wingless 7 foot bat.

Would be entertaining to watch, but I dont think Hearns would just blow him away real quick, but I think he wins late

    Chavez gets banged out early.

He's not going to try and box with Tommy because he'd get thrashed basically.... at least if he comes out swinging he's got the chance of landing that one blow to take Hearns' legs away..... but it's not happening.

Hearns in 4 rounds. Chavez would last at least twice as long as Duran did. Duran may have had more skills than Chavez but Chavez wins hannds down in the hart department.

Wow, this is the most ridiculous fantasy match up currently on the front page of the Classic...and considering the thread I made earlier...that's a big statement.

Conan is my boy. He stared Noni right in the face, as she was describing her adoration for actress Kate Winslet, and he didn't judge!
