I'm a firm believer that if Taylor hadn't have punched himself out Pavlik would have went to sleep during his "fall around the ring like a drunk" 45 second stint. From that point on he legitimately controlled and dominated Taylor, and won the fight. I just can't see a reason as to how Taylor didn't put him down....maybe thats just me. I wasn't trying to discredit his victory, or his brutal KO. I just think by barely sqeeking by that round it LED to him winning the fight versus an obviously exhausted Taylor.

Long story short: A properly conditioned taylor would ahve had the endurance and strength to put him down.......so a hearns who hits incredibly harder.....would definitely keep him on the ground.

Pavlik can be hurt as well, by a lesser puncher than Hearns. Hearns is also a better boxer than Pavlik, by a long shot, with quicker, snappier punches. Hearns takes Pavlik out within 5, maybe 3.

Hearns by KO. I don't mean to be rude, but these comparisons are getting ridiculous.

Yea I just dont logically see how people are putting pavlik and hearns in the same class.......they obviously are not.

    This is ludicrous

It appears my vote on Pavlik being the most overrated fighter today stands true. He's got limited boxing skill, and a very poor defense. Hearns would completely outbox, embarrass and humiliate him before leaving him in a wreck on the canvass

Palvic is very good but hearns is even better. this could have been an exciting match. I'm a fan of both fighters.

    Hearns by K.O. or T.K.O.

There's should be no arguement that Taylor is not even half of Hearns fighting skills . . . so if Taylor could put Pavlik down to the canvas . . . Hearns can definitely do more damage.

If that was Hearns in the ring with Pavlik . . . he won't have time to recover. It could have ended in the same round or the next round, the 3rd.

A little too much weight for Hearns, a great welterweight will usually lose to a damn good middleweight, especially a very large middleweight.

I don't think its damning at all, Hearns obviously has the better career and all time standing, but thats a big size difference.

Thomas Hearns was a harder and faster puncher than Jermain Taylor.
