Thomas Hearns vs Michael Spinks, circa 1984

This may have some truth as to what I meant,but Tyson sure ate him up quick,Tyson was to Spinks what Hagler was to Hearns

 

I think it's obvious that Spinks would be the overwhelming favourite as he's the bigger man and a great big yin generally beats a great small yin. The fight will probably end in a TKO for Spinks anywhere between rounds 5 to 8.

However, I can't write Tommy off completely. Whilst he's quite unlikely to stop Spinks he does have power at the weight. He floored Andries several times and had Hill badly wobbled a few times. Both have good chins, despite Hill's 4th round KO to RJJ, which was via a body shot.

Actually it's by utilizing body shots that Tommy might have more success. I think the left hook, and not the right hand, might be the key if Hearns is to have any chance. And his jab of course. Tommy's body punching, unlike his jab, has always been underrated. Tommy's long range left hook to the body was as vicious a body punch as I've ever seen. Tommy's got little chance going to the head but by ripping up the body, who knows.

I still think it's a fight too far for him but he does have a chance. I wouldn't put that much money on it though.

 

at light heavyweight Spinks wins by knockout. P4P Hearns wins by knockout. Hearns jab and right hand were quicker than Spinks and he would land it and stop Spinks. At lightheavyweight Spinks Jinx would be too hard.

 

Spinks by knockout in seven or eight rounds.Hearns might take a couple of early rounds by his jab, but once Michael gets to working and throwing the Spinks Jinx, It's a wrap.

 

Wouldn't want to watch this fight, I really like Tommy Hearns.

He would get stopped early, for sure.
