Prince Charles liked to fight on the inside and Hearns was a hard puncher. Meaning Hearns right hand would land and stop Prince Charles in 3 rounds. Charles Williams had success against lesser guys and was busy but that would backfire against top fighters like Thomas Hearns. Hearns already beat the best guy at the time Virgil Quicksilver Hill.
Williams was stronger than Barkley and would have raped Hearns forcing the referee to stop the fight.
Williams was a good, underrated guy who could really fight inside and bust you up. Trouble for him was he took a while to get going, which was not a great credential to meet Hearns with....... Hearns' legs past 154 weren't all that great though, so I give Williams a real chance; he was a hell of a lot better fighter than Barkley, whose general style (which he sort of shared with Williams) beat Hearns twice. Still............I pick Hearns by mid-rounds stoppage.
Yeah a good fight as Williams was a tough guy who could climb off the deck and win, I remember Bobby Czyz bouncing him off the canvas early in there bout but then taking a beating down the stretch from the Prince, still though I would look for Hearns to score a ko-tko around 4-6, but Williams would have a chance to pull the upset but I see Hearns putting him down and Williams staying there...
Tommy Hearns of 1991 who decisioned a passive Virgil Hill boxed well, but, I'm not sure he'd beat a 1988 version of Prince C. Williams..... The Hearns who TKO'd Dennis Andries in 1987 has a real shot, but Andries has no defense, just a solid chin and power.... Hearns hit Andries at will in 1987...... I'd like to believe P.C. Williams was better than Andries and on par with Hill...... MR.BILL
