Hearns's style is a nightmare for Duran regardless of the time or weight they fought at.

Whilst i would rank Duran the greater fighter Hearns would have his number in my opinion.

The Hearns-Duran-Barkley situation is one of the great enigmas in boxing history. still makes me go WFT?????

if you could spell it right then yeah.

you might even claim he had a weak chin when he fought joppy?

dont look at a record look him upon youtube in his early days around the mid 70's. most people forget and dont regard his exploits in the higher wieght divisions. he was already out of prime when he fought leonard...and in that it's said he was balooning up to stupid wieghts (easily over 200 pounds)

duran never quit on his stool even.
he was weak from trying to make wieght, after a few good even rounds he was spent. his snap was gone, he was getting totally humiliated by a man who had no reason trade with him...

Yes he was 1-3 vs guys that were 12 to 28 pounds over his best weight class. He was probably the greatest lightweight of all time. Sounds like you "just don't get it".

Well said, except maybe the "starch Barkley" part. I'm 50 yrs old and Duran is the best fighter I have ever seen.

It is kind of weird I personally think it is a bad style matchup for Duran, but as I said what is weird is Hearns blows out Duran. Hagler stops Hearns in three but Duran goes the distance and loses. Leonard beats Duran two of three but goes 1-0-1 with Hearns. Hearns is 0-2 vs Barkley but Duran beats Barkley. Makes you wonder how Hearns-Duran II would've went down after Duran beat Barkley, but I'd still would've picked Hearns back then.

    Different night, Different outcome.
That Night Duran got caught by IMO the Greatest straight right hand Puncher of all time.
Absolutly no shame in that, And also no EXCUSE.

    If they rematched?
Maybe it goes 12, maybe it goes 1?
Duran's chin is still granite regardless of that fight.

I think if Duran gets hit with that right hand then he will lose everytime. Hearns style is just made to beat Duran...always.

The same could be said about PBF who's probably the best super feather of all time still undefeated and he's beating guys 17 to 24 pounds over his best weight as well but gets no credit for it.:deal

The Only thing PBF has in common with Hearns And Duran is retirement.

Whatever you say. All three are multiple weight champs and ATGs whether you chose to accpet it is irrelevant.

    :yikes
Duran's goose was cooked in '84 against a peak Hearns............... Whether Duran lost too much weight or not, doesn't matter..... Duran had the frame of a solid 135 to 147 pounder........ Hearns, meanwhile, had the frame to weigh 160 to 180 with ease.......... In 1984, I believe Duran was *****-whipped and only there in Vegas for money purposes............ His effort and motivation sucked ass........... ****!!! Duran sat down in the corner prior to the icing........... That event sucked weenie................
