Oh dear, why do we always get these stupid threads? Hearns is on another level entirely, no offence to Crawford who is a very good fighter in his own right.

 

There isn't a single welterweight I'd outright favor over Hearns since he left the division. Some might have an outside puncher's chance like Trinidad, but Crawford isn't on that list. Hearns would outbox him and then knock him out.

Well, I gotta give credit to the OP. At least he's not saying a guy with less than 20 fights beats Hearns easily. To the point, I must go with Hearns. Can't pick any of the new crop to beat Hearns at welter.

 

I got curious and looked this up. When he got KO'd in round 14 by Leonard he had a 32(30)-0 record at age 22.

When Crawford was 22 he was fighting 6-rounders against guys like 6-10-1 Ron Boyd.
