Most of the fighters listed would have the " "punchers chance ". But their biggest problem would be could they survive Hearns early onslaught. Most of them wouldn't. Very few of the fighters that had the firepower on that list that could be a serious threat to Hearns didn't have the physical toughness to survive his early blistering offensive attack. He likely would ko early Benn, Norris, Vargas,Trinidad, Charlo etc.

The fighters listed that had the physical toughness to survive Hearns early onslaught didn't have the offensive skill or dynamic power to be a serious threat , wouldn't be able to handle Hearns speed, and reach. What probably happens to fighters like Basilo, Lomatta, Margarito, Fullmer would be a prolonged beating from Hearns, or he stops them by the ref saving them or cuts.
Fighters like McCallum, Monzon, Mugabi, Triple G , had the toughness and the physical skills, but the speed and physical advantages Hearns had would lead to him winning against them by Dec . It would be extremely tough for them to get past Hearns jab, and to mount a sustained attack that would be a serious that to Hearns. They didn't have the quickness of prime Leonard, or the toughness and mind set of Hagler along with his offensive skills.
Fighters like Mccellean and Jacobs have the size but in my opinion are very overrated. Mccellean 3 biggest fights were all past prime, yet he lost one of them. Jacobs lost to his best opponents, the fighters he lost to Hearns Handles them in my opinion.
So it leaves Ray Robinson and Jones Jr. Both had the speed, power, skills and physicality to be successful against Hearns. I believe Robinson more than likely beats Hearns , he had the tools PLUS the toughness and mentality.
Jones Jr. may have been more talented than Robinson. But the biggest question with him is would he have" dared to be great".
Each of the fighters that beat Prime / slightly past prime Hearns had one thing in common. They had to walk through the minefield to get to him. Would Jones dare to walk through the minefield against the imposing Hearns?
I don't believe he would. He would be content with trying to land the perfect counter, not leaving himself open for Hearns to blast him. Meanwhile losing the fight because Hearns would keep him off balance with his jab, threat of the right hand. Against Toney, McCallum, and Hopkins Jones fought brilliantly but cautiously. Not one of those fighters were as formidable as Hearns
The rest of the fighters listed wouldn't be that big of a threat against Hearns in my opinion.
