Absent a serious lapse by Hearns, he should be able to use his superior height, reach and speed to outbox Carter for a UD. If he got careless, it could be Hearns-Barkley all over again.
That was the great thing about Tommy at middleweight; almost any fighter could make it a Hearns-Barkley affair. He fought like he did at welter usually and made no allowances for the facts that a) he was hitting men more able to withstand his assault and fire back and b) men who could seriously hurt him when they did so. I see this as more Hearns-Roldan or Hearns-Kinchen. On paper, Tommy should win but unless he is as sharp as a tack (a la Duran, Hagler, Shuler), he's in for a tough night in a real two-sided affair that could go either way. As with all of Tommy's fights I'd have wanted to see it but preferably from the standpoint of knowing he'd won beforehand so I could come out from behind the sofa.
