Thats the exact reason why I wont blame any fighter leaving the country to seek fame abroad.

    Cool! :thumbsup

I just checked and it didn't say what time the broadcast starts. Do you know?

Some of us in the USA will be working half days (and some will have the day off; while others will be stuck at work miserable like any normal) as it's the day before our Thanksgiving holiday. The exact start time will matter for me as it means the difference between getting home in time to watch, or just staying to view it on the office computer.

Impossible to tell the exact time. All depends on the undercards. The 1st of 4 undercards start at 8pm south african time. Think thats 11am EST.

Sierra is a warrior with a great punch......
Thomas is better, but I think we will see a upset......

South Africa is 7 hours ahead of the eastern US. (right now it's 7:15pm here and 2:15 am there)

Still, this is an earlier card than Grant vs. Botha was! :think

(that started at 2pm EST, 9pm local)

People are really counting out Sierra here. I mean, he's no A-level fighter whatsoever, but besides that **** against Miranda, I've been somewhat impressed with him. He splattered Don George and then looked decent against Rodriguez (I think it was), drilled him and got a KD but eventually lost... While Oosthuizen is probably better, I wouldn't be surprised if Sierra won... but I'll have to go with Tommy though.

Sierra hasn't been in with Edwin Rodriguez...

Brandon Gonzales? He did knock Gonzales down, but aside from that didn't have too much to write home about.

Gonzales taught him a lesson in humility and whipped him despite Sierra coming in way over the limit and flaunting it.

I can't remember there ever being a South African card with coverage outside of SA, or even a way of watching on the internet outside of the country. I suspect that the fiber optics running out of the country just aren't strong enough to send great signals elsewhere for internet viewing, and the tv resolution is different in SA which makes it tough to broadcast elsewhere.

I'm a bit interested in the co-feature as well.

Mabuza at first glance might appear to be the underdog against the undefeated southpaw, with his eight career losses and coming off two in a row. He'd already proven himself with his previous two wins, however (pulling out a majority decision against Sergei Fedchenko in the Ukraine, and battering Kendall Holt into submission in what was at the time a mild shockwave through the boxing community) - as well as in his penultimate loss. It's worth noting that he was really giving Zab Judah the business and imposing his strength and looked to be well on his way to scoring a third straight upset, before a game-changing TNT overhand left detonated on his face and left him in pieces.

The late-blooming Aussie Wills has seen his schedule lighten from his rookie and sophomore years to the last couple, but has for the most part been slightly increasing his level of opposition and has knocked out 5 of 6 (as opposted to 4 of 12 before that). Called "the Surgeon", he is anything but as he couldn't throw a straight punch to save his life and is wasteful with his potato-gun jab. On the other hand, he is a good deal taller than the more decorated lefty Zabdiel and does have some degree of clubbing power - and it wasn't straight punches that ****ed Mabuza up against Judah.

I couldn't find any footage of Mabuza's most recent points loss to Chris Van Heerden a couple of months ago in what must have been a racially charged event in their mutual home state, but here is a refresher of the Judah bout (which aired on a rather unsuccessful PPV here in the US that scant few of us bothered to buy):

Wills has been out of the ring since making quick work of Venance Mponji with this borderline cheap shot (but hey, protect yourself at all times) back in April:

    Edit:

****! Apparently Mabuza vs. Wills is no longer even on the card.

Oh well. It isn't like we were likely to get to actually see it, anyway. :!:

FWIW, my pick would have been Mabuza to get back on the board and pop that cherry - either by a decision in the 117-111 range or by late (possibly zealous-African-official-assisted) TKO. :good
