    Thong Sithluangphophun real name Wiran Siththisob is a 23 year old Featherweight with a 15-0 9 KO's record. Born in Surin, Thailand an fighting out of Bangkok, Thailand. As far as his background goes I know absolutely nothing about this kid, sorry. But he's seems to be one of the better Thai prospects currently at Featherweight, he's been slowly crawling up the rankings since turning pro in early 2013 recently moving all the way up to 15th for the WBA. Most of his opponents so far have been on the slightly bummish side but that's usually the case with up and coming Thai fighters. He fights somewhat on the wild side throwing looping punches but his hands are usually back home blocking the opponents incoming shots, but that might not work as well with faster fighters because he takes a little too much punishment sometimes. He's very methodical at times throwing straight rights to the body and up top while he walks his opponents down, the right is also usually the shot that puts his opponents down. His chosen name or in all likelihood the name that was chosen for him will certainly garner a degree of attention if he ever manages to have a degree of crossover success.     One of the better Thai prospects, but I struggle to get too excited about many Thai's as they can seemingly vanish, we can't be certain on how complete his record is and there's every chance he'll run up 25+ wins before he faces someone of note.

    Saying that Thong has impressed at times and does look like a kid with plenty of promise, even if he does look a bit predictable at the moment.

    Not trying to hi-jack but got shown a kid who fought yesterday who may excite you called "Campee Singwancha"...I have to confess I like the look of this 17 year old 5-0 (5) kid (this fight isn't on boxrec at the moment but is his 5th contest)

    I don't comment a lot but your thread keeps me coming here in ESB. I enjoy seeing and following new prospects and frankly you are a better source than most of the boxing sites. I must say that Banger of Bangkok has got to be the funniest nickname you have given a fighter yet...makes him sound like a tranny at a local club haha...Anyway, another great read from a great thread by the OP. I'll be looking for more of your work.

    What do you remember better, Thong or Wiran Siththisob?

    The Thai's have smartly gone for names that are easy to remember in the West...Knockout CP Freshmart and Terdsak Kokietgym being two great ideas...
