Should take into account that due to Groves having his tactics spot on, Degale should have had two points deducted.

    1) Illegal shoulder
    2) Deliberate Elbowing of Groves whilst the referee was on the blindside.

    Frustrated and resorting to fouls.

Really good to see De Gale's face when the Lennon Jnr announced Groves the winner.

Also good to see Warren look as sick as a pig in the post fight interview. :D

    Once again .................

They fell into the hype machine and got over confident , this fight was always going to be a closely contested fight and for some un be known reason it was billed as being a blow out for De Gale . :huh

Groves was 3 to 1 with the bookies !!!!!

****in madness (thats why i put 75 vBookie on him :good)

I had Groves by 2 rounds anyway, it was close but the stats said it all, you have to do more than plod forward to win a fight. The best man won St george, about the rematch Groves should tell him to stick it up his arse. :good

I had it 116-113 for Degale and Ithought It was a poor decision , the commentary was awful , Degale won rounds 1 , 3 and 5 , the rest of the fight was easy to score .

No way you have to land punch's to score them and plodding forward and getting hit more than your dishing out = Loss of fight.

well I'm just saying, im completely impartial and I just got the sense that the judges and the commentators were scoring the fighters and not the fight . it was very close overall but the majority of the individual rounds where not close at all, clear winners in almost all the rounds . I thought it was a very easy fight to score for a neutral . 116-113 .

I have a friend who is a boxing writer, he hates Degale but he text me after the final bell , same thing "116-113" , even Jim Watt, who was giving groves a verbal blowjob all night, begrudgingly gave the fight to Degale 115-114 (we disagreed on rd3, this was when the commentary team deep-throating Groves for some reason, I thought Degale clearly won that round).

watch it again with the sound off preferable with someone impartial .

Well you don't rip points from a guy when the judges aren't doing it or you're not scoring the fight. You have to obey the refs instructions.

But I think your overall point is that Groves deserved to win and these are factors so stop moaning? I'd agree with that.

And I scored it a draw.

A good fight between 2 novices. The scoring showed what it was, an extremely close fight. I think De Gale however is the one who will get the most from this fight, i also think he showed he was solid ( i thought Groves looked uncomfortable at times ) and can go further than Groves. But neither of them should be overly dissapointed or overly happy, they both have a lot to work on, as you would expect from 2 inexperienced pros. Congrats to both for taking this fight.
