    I agree with that. Boxing has a much longer history in the public spotlight, it's a tall order for any MMA fighter to have the same cross-over appeal as Tyson did.

    For me, the comparison of Mark Kerr's impact was more the aura that it generated, at least in the smaller sphere of hard core fans. At the time, I remember having a similar feeling watching him compete as I did Tyson, not easily envisaging anyone standing up to him. Strange how things turn out sometimes. I think I'd be much more cautious in my appraisal if either fighter were around now.
