Those of you claiming that Lyakhovich will either knock out, or easily decision Ruiz

This can of match up ruins boxing...

 

Like I said on another thread, it totally depends on the Lyakhovich who shows up that night. He fought a strong, smart fight against Brewster. If he fights like that it's well within the realm of possibility that he steamrolls Ruiz. If he shows up like he did for the Briggs fight...then yes...keep dreaming.

 

Love or hate him and I know most feel the former, Ruiz is a hard man to beat.

Only Roy and Tua have beat him easily, Toney beat him clearly but on roids, other than that he has hugged, spoiled and faked being lowblowed his way through a lot of good fighters.
Ruiz is a case of an average fighter who achieved above average results.

 

Well, maybe. I'll say this though. If the Ruiz who fought Chagaev shows up against the Lyakhovich who fought Briggs, then there's why you have people thinking Lyakhovich will take this easy.

Frankly, I don't think either guy pulling off a solid win is dreaming here. It's too early to get lines on the fight yet, but if everyone DOES seem to think this is an easy day at work for Lyakhovich, then I'll bet on Ruiz in a heartbeat.

 

I see Lyakhovich winning a clear decision in this one.

 

Depends on whether the ref enforces the rules, and counts the KDs when Ruiz tries to fake a "low blow." :yep

Something tells me that, without King pullin' the strings, this glorified clubfighter is gonna be **** outa luck. :happy

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy - there is no fighter in boxing that deserves to get KTFO more for the shame he's brought to this sport! :nod

 

Despite the loses, Ruiz has been performing reasonably well lately. I think the fight will be pretty close, especially if Lyak shows the reluctance to fight that he displayed against Briggs.

 

Starting with the Toney fight, Ruiz has been less agonizing to watch. He's never going to be fun, but the Oquendo days appear to be behind us. For lifetime achievement, though, I'll still pull against him.

 

What ever anyone says, RUIZ ducked nobody, EVER. Never pulled out of a fight claiming an injury, this dude just showes up to fight, so what if he huggs and ties up. Mayweather and Hopkins cant be any more exciting.

 

I just cant see the logic in King wanting this guy to win, when he had more likeable fighters in his stable.

Id say someone like Tyson has brought more shame on the sport, then again he got people watching and kept them watching.

The advancments John Ruiz has brought in treating chronic insomia deserves praise, dare I say the title of Emperor of all Boricuas.
