Those of you that fight at over 200lbs. How many push ups can you do in a row?

I don't have a number for myself. I used to do a lot when I trained in sports in my secondary school (High School) days, but recently have only used them after a chest workout.

I tend to favour explosive work most of the time, and so with push ups I usually work with a clap in between, or let myself explode from a slight dip whilst my palms are on bricks.

I could test myself at the minute but I am working on getting back into shape.

I imagine that the smaller guys who box can go on all day, which is why I have aimed this at guys who are over the 200lb mark.

    Cheers

You need to tell us how many you can do first.

I already explained that part

I think that 100 would be a good standard for me though I have never trained for that sort of thing.

I am more interested in explosive training; I imagine that bodyweight exercise is bread and butter for you guys. So spit it out :yep

I am sticking to this place since I badly need to get back in shape.

I have been ill for a while but I can finally work out in relative ease at the moment. I'm just back from the gym.

One thing that puts me off is the ignorance regarding weight training, but I will fix any errors that I see.

wouldnt pullups be much more harder for the heavier guys than pushups

    Certainly.

Wide grip pull-ups can be a nightmare for a big guy who is not in shape.

About 50 push-ups. I'm 215lbs and slightly out of shape at the moment. And I hate pull-ups.

    When I am a trim 230 I guarantee 100 :good

Pretty pointless for me but I just picked up a burning desire to hit 100 a few days ago for some reason.

Actually, I don't want to focus too much on pointless crap.

Well, put it this way - I will have an eye toward it.

In college I was 230lbs, by no means any condition to fight. But I could do 100 pushups since I worked on it daily.
