Journey men~ Those boxers we see, the ones often battered and humiliated under the spotlight. They may just be a footnote for the fighters we remember for the champs the contenders... the greats. But those Journeyman, cans, and cab drivers the ones most have only seen lose. They may not have shared the career success of there conquerors but often times shared a childhood dream all the same with there foes to be remembered as a champion. In turn for a lack of talent, quality coaching, or other factors they are knocked into obscurity a rich dream dashed for the sake of another they did there roadwork in the twilight of the morning , bled just as often in the gym. but they will return to the dust like so many of us with a dream uncomplete and scars incurable from a sport that has rejected there ability. Please treat them no less then any champion they simply dared to dream, to act on there heart were so many others would follow the path of mediocrity.
You’re one of the most irrelevant posters on this board, one who offers next to nothing for discussion and what presence you have here is a borderline meme. Get a life.
I remember some years ago seeing a guy fight and get stopped on a bad cut. A month or so later I saw him in the gym and we got to talking. He said that the cut made him realize that he shouldn't fight any more and that he was going to quit training too. I felt bad for him...until I learned that he had just become the head pharmacist at a Walmart and that the real reason he quit training was that he was starting medical school. You also have to be careful about throwing around terms like "can" or "cabdriver"; I've seen people get beat up for things like that. I have a friend that once told me of a local fighter 'he sucks'. But when he heard a fan, for lack of a better word, say that same fighter was a dog and a quitter, my friend ran a quick field test to see if the 'fan' was packing glass. And he was.
Theres plenty fighters I dont like because of there personality Wilder Paz Broner and Teo to name a few but I'll never disrespect a man who climbs into the ring even if it's to spar there still in there in combat.
It is a travesty, Most here haven’t stood in a ring and I’ve seen plenty of people here and everywhere cry Bum and quitter at world champions. Bah!
