The guy went to war for 6 rds and knew he was beat. He was right to quit as there was no point waiting for the inevitable KO. If was right to save himself from further damage. His corner are as much to blame as he could have won that fight if he boxed from the outside instead of brawling with a guy who can bang. With some experience he would have worked that out for himself. If did the correct thing and put his health over his pride and he will be back smarter for it.

Are you making that statement based purely on my post count.?
Just because i have less posts than you does not make my opinion worth less than yours. If anything it just points out the general large output of crap you have been posting. Noob:) **** off.

    And Ortiz didn't?:patsch
If he really had the (firepower) to knocked him out, why couldn't he do it? .. Ortiz hit him with everything he had and just couldn't do it.

I am not saying that he dosn't have balls, it takes a lot to get in the ring. It is because we have been witness to great fighters with a never say die attitude. He was up at the count of 4 and then he decided not to continue. Maybe it is not about heart for him but desire?

true.. i thought ortiz would have a good chance of beating maidana cuz he was the better boxer. But he couldn't stop the right hook of maidana. The first knockdown clearly showed he was hurt. Still i gotta question his heart cuz after the knockdown in the 6th round cuz he got up quick enough to tell me he wasn't badly hurt. In the end he just quit.

The problem is he flat-out said he won't go out on his shield in front of a television camera. Even if he said it while overwhelmed by the moment, he can't escape it. He knows he said it, fans know he said it, and every one of his future opponents know he said it. Mentally, that will stick with him. It's going to be an uphill battle to not succumb to that kind of pressure again when he knows he's admitted to quitting when he felt he was going to lose.

He ADMITTED to quitting. You don't even need to really analyze the situation. He openly admitted to it after the fight.

They both quit and Cotto got down on his knees and gave up. If you want to talk ****, that is a lot worse than being on your feet and saying that's enough.

Second, at least Ortiz had the balls to face the camera after he quit and lost the fight. Cotto waddled back to his room instead of sticking around for the TOUGH questions.

what the hell do you want to call it then? The guy flat out quit then gave one of the most disgraceful interviews I have ever heard in 20 years of watching Boxing. The guy had a cut that was not near as bad as many other fighters have fought with and the first sign of adversity the guy quit.

What makes it worse is all the hype this guy was getting. Pathetic.
