Those who underrate Pacquiao the most are those who think JMM outboxed him

  1. Why don't u mention Pacquiao's win over Miguel Cotto? Cotto was very skilled. He had underrated speed and an excellent jab. In that fight, Pacquiao was arguably outboxing a very skilled fighter, at least in the early rounds. After the two knockdowns, he rendered Cotto helpless. It was a good display of heart by Miguel. His will was never broken. Nevertheless, Pacquiao made it his fight by hurting Cotto with his amazing speed, power and stamina. One of Pacquiao's better wins. He showed he has very good boxing skills. His timing is excellent.

None of Pacquiao's 140+lb opponents are near the skill level of Marquez in terms of boxing skills. I think the problem is people overrate size and weight over skills, it's always about how bigger they are than Pacquiao but what about skills? Marquez did a masterful job out boxing Pacquiao a guy who has all the physical advantages over Marquez. I picked Pacquiao to win every one of his 140+lb fights, the only question mark I ever had with Pac against those guys was if he could take a punch from a bigger guy, now it's obvious he can. Pacquiao is a complete fighter and always has been, so is Marquez.

I am a fan of both JMM & Pacquiao but I felt JMM was getting the better of him sometimes in their fights. I actually scored the second fight for JMM but they were close fights. People throw the word robbery around but they should look at Martinez-Cintron, THAT'S when judges rob a guy. The thing with Pac is that in order to get the better of him, you still have to go in the lion's mouth and Morales & JMM did that. Still those three fights(EM-Pac 1 & Pac-JMM 1-2) were close with only Pac-EM 1 having the clear winner which was Morales. Pac hasn't lost since the first EM fight which was 5 years ago. People think about aggression when you say "Pacquiao" but the guy is skilled with one of if not the best offensive skills in the game today. He offers many angles and can get in&out using his footspeed. He also has been better with picking his shots and throws straight punches with force behind each one of them. You still can't ignore that JMM was getting the better of Pacquiao at times in their fights though the fights were close.

By no means is he "outboxing" Pacquiao but he is being a handful. Even in this JMM highlight you still can see Pacquiao land some good shots.
