he should be next in line to fight bute. Bute has no options in the forseeable future at 168 aside from the miranda/steiglitz winner, And that fight has to happen first. I think the very next fight for the IBF champ should be allan green. Green has been highly ranked for a long time and although his team has blown fights for him, it sounds as if he really knows that this is his only option left at 168. As for bute, he would be cleaning out 168 outside of the steiglitz/miranda winner. Those 2 fights can fights keep him busy until the super6 is sorted out. Green even went on record that he'd rather fight bute than wait to see if JT drops out of S6. So, this fight should be easy to make in montreal for feb or march. Thoughts?
green is a helluva puncher, but bute has the speed and the better ring movement. that would be a great fight.
****, you call Green gaining momentum by putting on poor performances beating nobodies? What would happen to Green if he faced Ward, Pavlik or Abraham. Oh well, no need to wonder. Bute is on that level so I would enjoy watching Green getting another ass beating.
I'd love for Green to be Bute's next fight. I joke about Allan from time to time, but he really has had some terrible advice as it comes to matchmaking and negotiating. Bute-Green is one of the few fights outside of the Super Six that really makes sense along with Stieglitz-Miranda. Here's hoping it gets past the negotiating table this time around.
Agreed it's the best option, but what do Green's people think? Do they think? If the fight's out there and he doesn't take it, Green will look like a fool unless Taylor's withdrawl it imminent. I wouldn't be surprised if Green delays his way out of a Bute fight and ends up not in the S6 as well.
Hope it comes to pass. I am a Green fan and he does have tremendous boxing ability and he has 1 punch KO power. The issue with him is mental, not physical. He fights scared and does odd things, like looking at his foot. If he can pull it together he has as much talent as anyone at 168 besides Ward.
If I'm not mistaken, Green refused to fight Bute twice in the past. I don't think Bute's promoter still wants to deal with Green's camp. Right now, a fight with Pavlik is by far the best option available, and HBO looks very interested in it.
Green either looks like a destroyer or a passive doormat in every fight, no in between with that guy.
yeah what's up with that foot thing? The last fight I saw him in, he was doing it so much it almost seemed like he was obsessive-compulsive about it or something. He didn't used to do that.
I think the dude has OCD. It's a shame, I think he's kinda being hampered by something he has no control over, like David Reid back in the day.
:rofl Seriously though, i dont understand peoples interest in green, who has he beat to get a fight with Bute? People can say all they want about Miranda but guess what, hes stepped inside the ring with Pavlik Abraham Abraham again Green Ward And he did better against AA the first time then Taylor did, better against ward then kessler did, and beat green. If Miranda looks good in his upcoming fight, and wins impressively, i think it should be Miranda vs Bute.
well now i feel like a dick for laughing.... hopefully its just something else, like constantly checking to make sure his footwork is right or something. It is actually quite bizarre now that i think about it.
I feel the sameway on this. I don't know what in his Career that Green has done that makes people think he should get the next shot at Bute. The 1 time he moved up in class, he looked like total crap vs Miranda. Now we have seen what has happen when Miranda has moved up..not too well. Green talks a very good game..but in his one chance to back it up he failed. Green needs to do more then flap his gums to get a shot.
