BINGO! You have delivered Valhalla back to its rightfully peaceful and tranquil state. Odin and the overseen slain warriors smile upon you.

True re the dismissal of Patterson I and II, particularly calling in the involvement of D'Amato also - though Floyd saying yay to same is just as unbelievable, - at least from the perspective of selling the idea, I suppose you could anticipate being met half way by the naivety of a certain contingent who buy into the express circulation of fixes, many of whom don't seem too fussed about fiddly things like facts, logistics and reasonable assignation of motives. Look at Ali-Liston I - many will still cry fix - even though Liston went at least 6 rounds and got beat up during the process - but he still threw the fight?? LOL.. Floyd lasted for much less - both times, looked very legit - but he wasn't beat up over a protracted number of rounds, only a total of a little over 4 mins in there with the Bear.

Yeah, the alleged dipped gloves gained some reasonable traction back then and even to this day people will swear that Liston “cheated” via that method against multiple opponents. Though Liston is one of my favourite fighters, I feel reasonably objective on this – I do not feel that it is true that Liston’s gloves were treated and certainly not deliberately so in the first Ali fight. I’ve never been able to establish the chronology of when the others made their accusations - like Williams, Machen, Folley?, hard to remember who exactly pointed the finger – or the glove at Liston (groan), but I always wondered if it was simply a band wagon jump AFTER the first Ali fight and the suspicions surrounding same. Perhaps a way to excuse their own losses AFTER the fact?? Otherwise, do any of the other accusations predate the first Ali-Liston fight? . Some people point to Machen blinking vs Liston, but he was getting hit and that can cause you to blink – LOL – particularly if its Liston’s fist crashing into your head.

Is it just me or is your proposition being taken a tad too seriously by some. LOL. :) I mean, for mine, Liston was the MAN, this is just a shoot the sh*t for fun hypothetical. I can understand strong disagreeance if someone was trying to float this stuff for real. Perhaps we shouldn't even "dream" (up) such things of Sonny, otherwise we need to wake up and apologise! :D
