I'm not one them anything, I go by what I see and in my mind the 30's heavyweights were'nt that special. it does'nt mean I think they were **** or useless just not as good as the late 40's, 50's, late 60's and 70's

    Sugar Ray Robinson.

I have Ali ahead of Robinson.

I've seen a clown in this thread already say Ali isn't in his top10.

hence i ask ...without an Ali who would yu think of and why ..when yu hear the name The Greatest!!

simple question ...as my questions to my fellow boxing fans always state THOUGHT JERKER!!!!

Lennox Lewis anyone? No one thinks a 6'4 heavy with a gret jab and murderous over hand right and overall athletic ability would give Joe louis and Ali fits?

No, he isn't. There are more deserving fighters. You probably haven't heard of most of them, so it's pointless talking with you about it. :good

but no boxing fans think ali is the greatest, everyone (or most) have either ray robinson or henry armstrong on top of their list.

All those guys have at the very least a good argument to be ranked above Ali and Louis and some are a lock for ranking above them:

    Sam Langford
    Harry Greb
    Henry Armstrong
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Ezzard Charles
    Mickey Walker
    Roberto Duran
    Benny Leonard
    Barney Ross
    Willie Pep
    Tony Canzoneri
    Archie Moore
    Barbados Joe Walcott
    Joe Gans
    Jimmy McLarnin
    Gene Tunney
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Jose Napoles
    Jimmy Wilde

I don't rank him behind all of them but behind plenty.

I wonder how the HW scene would've went if Ali was never born (or never fought).

You look at Ali's first title reign and think Liston beats all of them, as he already had beaten some of them anyway. But then again, Liston was up there in age as he was probably born before the listed 1932 year. He was not always training like he should've; he was overconfident for Ali in Miami, why would it be that different for some other guys?. Supposedly also he was drinking heavily. I could see a case where he gets loses to a lesser fighter, regains the title, then loses later.

Frazier has his reign and then loses to Foreman. Foreman reigns until he loses to Young or maybe Holmes.

My top 5 are set in stone (the fighters, if not the exact order) but it doesn't look like that. Rarely do you see Ali and Louis ranked as highly as you seem to. I rate them as the two best Heavyweights ever with Ali #8 all-time and Louis outside the top 15.

    Mt top 5 is;

    Ray Robinson
    Sam Langford
    Henry Armstrong
    Harry Greb
    Ezzard Charles
