I think he will win a world title. There is no need to **** him in with the top men in the division he's only 19 after all. He has an incredible build for his age, looks as strong as an ox.

I would not say Mexico City is known for its women... the prettiest girls in Mexico come from Los Altos de Jalisco.

  3. I like him a lot. I was actually gonna make this same thread but saw someone beat me to it.

Someone else said he reminds them of Miguel Cotto... you beat me to that too lol. I like how he looked in that Camechis fight.. He looks strong, confident, controlled, and relaxed. His competition has been better than you would think, he's beaten 2 or 3 undefeated fighters and the combined records for his last 10 opponents is 180-18. Not bad at all for a prospect.

The kid's good, but let's wait a few years and see where he's at.

    He's 19 years old.

He's calm in the ring like a veteran.
He has the killer intincts of a prime DLH.
He has power in both hands.
He has a stiff, powerful jab.
He has a beautiful straight right.
He has a good left hook.

Let's just hope this kid keeps his heart, and dedication.

Everything you said is so true... his speed looked slightly improved in the fight.

When he fought Tyner the kid showed he is not easily lured into a slugfest.

I would imagine he is going to have a title within a year.

He is only 19 and already has 30 pro fights under his belt.

I really hope he is not rushed.

:deal At first, I hoped a big time promoter would pick him up, but when I started seeing Ortiz and other fighter from GBP's stable losing fights they weren't supposed to, I had second thoughts on Canelo joing GBP. I do think he is a better fighter than Ortiz and has what it takes to be a future 147lb champion, but I hope they match him well and most importantly have the best people money can buy in his corner. I know Mosley helped Robert Guerrero prepare for one of his fights it would be great if Alvarez learned some skills from Hopkins, Richardson, Mosley, etc etc. He'll need all the best training he can get to beat the best at 147-154.

So far I like everything i've seen, hes really entertaining too, when he gets real confident he starts moving his head around all crazy messin with his opponent lol, jus somethin about him that I really enjoy watching. He's young, talented, skilled, calm, patient with powerful (in both hands) and charismatic and mexican! Sounds like the next best thing to me

You can say and hope for whatever you want. A true mexican prospect is fighting on the undercard of pac-clottey. His name is RODRIGO GARCIA. He has all the tools of a superstar. He would outbox alvarez right now. A few more fights and everyone will know who he is. You heard it from me first. Alvarez doesnt have all the tools, say what you want.

    Doubt it.

  13. I've been watching everything on youtube of this Alvarez kid and he looks like the goods to me. And he doesn't look 19 except in the face, he fights maturely. The Larry Mosley fight was 10 fights ago... We'll see what happens on the Mayweather Mosley undercard... But if he wins there, don't be suprised to see this kid put into a world title fight by next summer.

He's gonna get his **** knocked loose in the first round against Cotto's ugly ass brother in about two months, mark my words. He's a glass jawed fraud.:deal:

    How wrong could you be!

I had to boxrec/google that unknown guy you said what a slow career he has lol! The Mexican version of Bogdan Dinu lol. Like 10 fights in 7 years. Still hasn't stepped up. Whereas Alvarez is the superstar and has proved to be the goods :)
