Very disappointed...... Foreman had great movement good jab abd straight right but for a guy so fast and accurate never threw if he threw more he would be very dangerous Foreman was being wobbled by jabs his chin is suspect and he has a low work rate recipe for trouble Though the only thing he has in good supply is heart aand grit not quit in this guy I feel bad he went down and hurt his knee from Cottos corner dowsing the apron in water and it was the knee in the brace none the less a little chaotic apperently a towel was thrown then it continued guess it was not from the corner and his trainer ran in to clear up the mess almost getting a DQ fight continued Foreman went down from a weak shot wanted to get up but was stopped cause the ref decided to play doctor and determine the knee was done Cotto lacked killer instinct had a guy on one leg and all he had to do was maul and punch and the guy would go down from the wind and the ref was inching to stop it and he didnt even swarm a wounded fighter. He had him hurt early from jabs but never progressed to follow up and finish him looked like he carried him. Steward sounded concerned to just win rounds not get him outta there Maybe i'm just a little frustrated but for the huge spectacle fight was a flop and a shitty undramatic inconclusive finish but had the knee not been injured Cotto would have skated to an easy UD Cotto looked great at the weight foot work was great had some pop jab was excellent just needs to go for the kill Foreman is tall quick accurat lands the jab and right lead also had a nice left hook but he never threw and it was kinda frustrating after 5 rounds
if he let his hands go he would have made it interesting like if he fought the whole fight like round 4
Foreman deserved better than being stopped. No denying the injury made him a sitting duck as he couldn't move. If it's a bad knee injury, they really should of stopped the fight there and then though. Fighting on through it could see a long, long injury lay off. Cotto looked good in phases, but it was a rubbish way to win/lose a fight.
I actually thought the main event was great. It far exceeded my expectations. And I don't think Yuri looked as bad as you are making him out to be. He landed pretty solidly at times against Cotto. Cotto's face was marked. But once the knee gave out, it was game over for Yuri. Still not sure about Cotto. Good performance, not great. Maybe a little more time with Steward will help. I thought the Stadium was awesome. Would love to see another fight card held there. Maybe Cotto and Lopez on the same card? Can you imagine that crowd?
i thought they should have let it go it was a bad punch he was getting up foreman wanted to continue its boxing not like he was getting pounded and his life was in danger Cotto hardly even pressured the guy
As far as the co-feature, I thought Joe Greene fought a terrible fight. Vanes was light years ahead of him in every facet.
Great show great presentation I liked Yuri's ability but his low work rate was his doom he needs to throw Cotto to me lacked killer instinct but he won in a make or break fight got his 3rd belt in 3rd class so a big success just a dissapointing result
Disagree there, Foremans game looked like it relied on moving (running), the injury took that away from him. Letting him continue, was for me, essentially throwing a lamb to a lion... He had no chance. He was behind on points, was struggling to throw anything of note (certainly couldn't plant his legs and throw with power if he wanted) and could barely move. Kudos for wanting to fight on though, he deserved better than a TKO for that. Plus the fact he could be doing some serious damage to his knee, that could see him being out for a year if it's ligament damage. I've had a serious knee injury... it's not fun. 10yrs on, and it's still not the same.
