This thread is about Victor Ramirez. Ramirez apparently has a good amateur record and good KO power, and now the WBO interim title.

Let me start by saying I didnt see the fight. The RBR states Alexeev was hurt a few times and then quit on his stool. For those who did see the fight:

    1. How tall is Victor Ramirez? Alexeev is 6'2, was Ramirez close to his height?

    2. How would you describe his style?

    3. Can he make some noise in the cruiserweight division?

    Lets hear your thoughts

He is a tough cookie. U can probably find his stats on boxrec. He is a brawler type of fighter. His stamina was a lot better than Alexeev's. Plus, he was able to weather the shots a lot better than Alexander. Alexander needs to work on his defense and stamina. This Victor kid will make some noise hopefull getting the bigger fights. He beat that ass.

His stats are sketchy at boxrec (no reach, height, etc).

You think he will beat Enzo Macc?

He just made same loud noise! LOL.

He was a former two-time amateur national champion at super heavy, had most of his pro fights (and recieved his sole loss) at HW. Nothing very impressive in overall skill level, but showed fairly good defense vs. the usually quicker Alexeev, cut down the distance and had success at the ropes and on the inside. He started to catch Alexeev more regularly when the Russan started to fade. First he rocked Alexeev in the sixth, but the Russian had a good 7th, then Ramirez had a huge 9th, which made the corner give up the fight. So he overcame some Alexeev moments, but - not taking away anything - it was more like a bad style match-up for the Russian who got into trouble when the stamina became an issue. In the first 5 Ramirez wasn't busy enough to score rounds, maybe he didn't want to get caught moving in, and he wasn't. But he still managed to land some nice punches in the opener, and when the chance came later, he unleashed some crazy power punches, and had little trouble landing them. Although Alexeev is the taller, he looked physically very strong. It's impossible to judge him based just on this fight (the only one I've seen), but he showed a lot of mental mojo and a very big punch, so he might make a few surprises in the not too distant future. He'll either be Enzo Maccarinelli's next opponent, or his mandatory challenger, so I think we'll be able to see him in a different situation. Until then, I'd put him in the same bunch with Zuniga.

His style will clash with Enzo's. It would be a very entertaining fight. Somebody will get KO. I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Enzo. But, Enzo will give him a run for his money.

Very strong. Rather slow. Completely one dimensional.

Slow, predictable, durable, teak tough cookie with an iron beard, has pop in his fists, attacks like a raging bull, good stamina, mentally tough like a warrior from ancient times, decent defence

However,he would have lost his fight against Alexeev if the Russian hadnt shown a terrifying and amazing lack of stamina in the later rounds.

I gave the first 7 rounds to Alexeev who even managed to hurt the tough Argie quite badly with a beautiful body shot, but wasnt able to finish him off.
Now and then Ramirez connected with some good shots, too.
Nevertheless,Alexeev's horrifying lack of stamina was the decisive factor in their intense battle of willpower.
Ramirez reminds me quite strongly of his compatriot Garary.

All in all Ramirez is a mentally tough fighter with great willpower like Firat Arslan. He will surely make some noise at cruiser weight.
Nonetheless, I very much doubt that he will capture a world title and defend it very long.

Hey Odo, sorry to hear your boy lost. It was quite rewarding on one hand, as many were labelling him a top 10 P4P already and the hype got annoying.

On the other hand, he will be a very good fighter when all is said and done, and he will be back, though it will be a long road for him.

Anyways mate, Alexeev will be back, do not worry too much about that. :good

Little bit of self-irony, I guess.
    Why are you owning yourself?

Why are you still on my nuts 2 days later? It's pathetic. :rofl

Besides, being a future P4P star and a current top 10 P4Per are two very different things.

Aboveall he's tough. It's quite apparent he's used to fighting in HW. Relies on power. Pressure fighter who comes forward in a shell without a punch. Gives angles and mixes up well in the middle range. Slick boxer would make a bull out of him.

You just don't know when to stop for your own sake, now do you? This thread is about "Thoughts on Alexeevs Conqueror: Victor Ramirez", not "replying to posters who had high hopes on Alexeev", like me, Odo or you.

So can you do the "I reply to you to make you look stupid" stuff in one of your pro or anti-Alexeev topic? Just copy+paste the following examples there. Here, please talk about Ramirez... but wait, have u even watched the fight? :patsch
