This was a very interesting fight. I was suprised that Maidana recovered relatively well from the hard body shot he received in the first round. My one question is: Do you think that the body shot that Maidana suffered in the 1st round decreased Maidana's power and allowed Khan to survive the flush right hand he got in the tenth?
yeah maybe Maidana was gassed in the later rounds especially after the 10. but he threw too many wild punches in the 10th that was a mistake. If he had took his time and only threw accurate hard punches he might have caught him
I've never understood how some people had this fight close. Apart from the 10th rd and maybe a couple of other rd's i had Khan winning pretty comfortably something like 115-110, what made the fight so exciting though is the possibility that Khan could be knocked out any second of the fight.
The real question is..How on earth did Khan's chin tolerate the onslaught in the 10th round? Is his chin really as glass as we think.
Expect the rematch at 147 that's for sure. I want to see how Maidana fights guys who he can't outbox (Karass he just boxed) Lopez fight will be interesting.
Maidana slaughters him in a rematch. Hell, I think Soto-Karass would have a good shot at beating him too.
You clearly have no concept of how much Khan sucks, especially now that his confidence has been shattered and he's been relegated to fighting people nobody has ever heard of.
Once you lose you can't get big fights and rematches especially when you get KO'd it's about rebuilding your rep up again and that's what he's doing and if you think Maidana (who's already past his prime and outside of his best weight) and Soto the gate keeper Karass beat Khan then I don't know what to tell you.
Is this the same Maidana who lost every second of every round to Devon Alexander at 147lbs? If Khan stuck stuck to a gameplan he'd beat Maidana easily but he allows himself to get into wars which has always been his un-doing so could get knocked out by Maidana as well.
I think Khan was able to survive the shot from Maidana because Maidana's power was reduced from the body shot.
It wa a winged punch from a hundred miles away That's how he survived it He also survived due to Joe Cortez helping him out strangely The fight wasn't close however
Exactly. You can never put money on a guy with as weak a mind as Khan. And Maidana knows all he has to do is keep coming at him. And not get hit in the body, that's also kind of important.
