As for OP’s question, I’m far from an expert on the era but glancing at Boxrec it appears he was stopped just twice in nearly 200 fights, which says a lot for him chin and for Chocolate, who was one of the men who did it. Speaking to his style, the UPI account says he wasn’t in Choco’s class as a boxer and described him as a wild-swinging slugger with a heavy punch, but Kid outfought him on the inside when he tried to turn it into a brawl. He lost to Petey Sarron a couple of times. Seems the Little Fish was a cut above most of the era until he tried to swim in the big pond.
