Aside from the judges actually letting him get the W. Not even close to an upset Rummy.:nonono

    Agreed.

The disrespect shown to Bivol pre-fight was both embarrassing and disgusting.

Did they play bivols national anthem?

    Or did they skip both?

On point Rummy, though I had it a bit wider 118-110, Bivol was just that bit better in every department, and disrupted Canelo's rythym with a perfectly executed gameplan.

Some folks may have suggested in thelead up to this that Bivol is basic, and one-dimensional; but he executes those basic fundamentals at an insanely high level, and makes hardly any mistakes.

Can’t believe Clenelo was -550 pre fight.

    Absurd.

I believe it was an upset. There were a fair number giving Bivol a real chance, but the general expectation was that - even if he deserved the W, he may not get the nod. Canelo may not have been a huge favorite, but this wasn't perceived as a pick'em fight in my estimation.

I think he means upset from a mainstream, Washington Post, jack-of-all-trades sportswriter's POV!

I did not get into detail about my score, but I thought I was generous to Canelo in the sense that, if I had to swap the 1 or 2 rounds I had the trickiest time with, they would be rounds going from Canelo to Bivol.

I thought Bivol was going to be Canelo's toughest test since GGG 2, but I didn't think he'd pull it off. I couldn't have been more wrong. His footwork and defense were stellar, and everything is so economical and subtle, it's easy to overlook that footwork,

Maybe I should've been banging Bivol's drum a lot harder, and for weeks on end. But I've been depressed and detached for the last 3 months because of the state the US is in, and the crap happening in Ukraine. So I haven't felt as up to posting my every thought. Although I did amp it up in the last week. If I had, maybe that would have altered your perception a little.:D This was as shocking an upset as Usyk boxing AJ's ears off. I mean, if a half dead shot to **** ravaged by alcoholism pitty patting Kovalev with a 2 week training camp could take 7 to 8 rounds off of Canelo with relative ease. A decade younger version of Kovalev, actually sitting down on his shots, was always destined to do a number on old Ginger Nuts.

Sorry but how exactly you scored the fight 116-112? Explain it to me ? Which rounds exactly you gave to Canelo, and for what? Hitting thin air or landing on Bivol Elbows/Shoulders/Arms/Gloves?
Last time i check this ain't scoring shots, and you should not get awarded for that.
Or maybe you give Clenelo 4 rounds for looking like a pizza in the face ? Or maybe for gassing out ?

I don't see how you can reward Canelo rounds for being outlanded, outsmarten, outpaced, outplayed, outpunched, outdefenced, outbossed and pretty much every single department you can have.
The guy look tired after just a few rounds and for that you don't score points, you actually lose.

I think many were pretty surprised at Canelo's lack of effectiveness. Outplayed, out-witted by a tough, young, big man whose planning and tactical nouse was really commendable. Canelo isn't without a chance in the rematch, but it's certainly a bitter piece of humble pie for the superstar. He's smart enough to iron out what needs to be; but a fair rematch victory is a big mountain to climb. Let's hope he brings the correct tools along for the next expedition and make it a little more competitive.

I watched quite a few Bivol fights prior to making my prediction, and I sold him short and misread the clash.

But you know, that's kind of my thing. I tend to do that and IDKSAB.
