Anyone see some good fights or title fights over the years in Los Angeles?

I’ve been attending fights here for a little over a decade. Been to most the big ones in that time like the Marquez-Vazquez III, saw GGG & Chocolatito all the times they fought here. Lomachenko too and Juan Manuel Marquez’ last fight. A lot of fights in Carson, the newly renovated Forum, Staples Center and a lot of smaller shows like the Belasco In Downtown LA.

One of my favorites to watch has been Juan Francisco Estrada he seems to call this home now when he fights.

My mother took me to the Olympic when I was 3-4 years old and I grew up on Little Red Lopez, Bobby Chacon, and Carlos Palomino. The last fight card I saw there, live, featured Roger Mayweather vs one of the Bejines brothers (Oscar, I think), Azabache Martinez stopping Dana Roston, and Marcos Villasana.

I was a regular at the Forum for many years and saw Barrera, Chiquita Gonzalez, Too Sharp Johnson, Daniel Zaragoza, and many others.

If the LA boxing scene interests you, I highly recommend Mexican-American Boxing in Los Angeles by Gene Aguilera. You can also search this forum for posts by kikibaltazar; the man was a treasure because he was/is an integral part of the scene for over 40 years.
