- I don't see enough conclusive evidence to determine that margarito cheated in the first fight. Margarito really didn't touch cotto that much last night and cottos face was still pretty bruised up. Without assuming Margarito cheated in the first fight I think ultimately margaritos pressure is what did cotto in against margarito in their first match up - Cotto & Margarito are done as elite fighters, ESPECIALLY margarito. Cotto is still a great fighter but he isn't ready for the top 3 of the division. I have Martinez, Canello, Kirkland, Mayweather definitely beating him and a few others making interesting fights, notably lara & k9 Bundrage. Margarito has absolutely no chance though, with the combination of his bad eye, bad footwork, wide punches it would be extremely unlikely to see him win at the highest level. - The stoppage was premature. Not that I think margarito was going to win but I definitely think the pressure was starting to get to cotto. He was on his bike for the entire fight and not that I have a problem with that but it seemed to me that he was slowly starting to tire. Either way Cotto was probably going to win and margarito sucks. - Bob arum needs to step aside. I'm SOOOOOOO tired of this guy not stepping out of his promotional group to set up a fight. He's preventing the fights that the fans want to see. He may make entertaining fights but he doesn't make fights that truly solidify who is the greatest fighter and thats what I would like to see anyways those are my thoughts
It was always gonna get stopped at the slightest sign of real damage to that eye. Even if he was ahead the doctor would have been under strict orders from the NYSAC.

Easy fights for cotto k9,kirkland is wild worst then margo,,,lara i think is too small for that division,,,canelo will be intresting,,,,maravilla din my eyes dosent deserve to fight cotto make up you r mind everyone says sergio can fight cotto,chavez jr,mayweather,pacquiao, yet he wont fight pyrog andy lee,or go up in weight to fight bute or others middle weight because there bigger yet he prefers to fight smallers then him.....come on
no way in hell kirkland beats cotto- kirkland has great heart and determination but is just as bad or worse with wide punches as margarito. However after his last performance Krkland definitely deserves the payday and I would pay to see this fight....
That's Cotto's skin texture. Like most Spanish fighters that are his complexion, he cuts easily no matter what.
The problem with Cotto is that he doesn't have a long time good trainer. He really didn't have a trainer when he fought Pacquiao (I seriously do not count that guy, whoever his name is, as a trainer for the Pacquaio fight). He even said that he didn't train to anticipate Pacquiao's speed in an interview after that fight. He ****ed up big time even though he happen to land an occasional stiff jab in that fight.
Are you serious? did you watch the Kirkland v AA fight? Kirkland is not a wild swing brawler in there, the guy knows how to box. He was throwing beautiful combos in there between AA looping shots. Kirkland, AA, Canelo, Lara and about 5 others are way better than that bum Margo.
