Thoughts on Cotto vs Margo in light of confirmed allegations

I tell you that fight just never set well with me and I could not see how this gangly awkward guy pounded Cotto. I just couldnt explain it. Im sure Margo cheated that night. Cotto described getting hit by Margo as getting hit with bricks. I am sure had Margo not cheated Cotto would have knocked him out. By round 6 that plaster was just about hard.

as far as Im concerned Cotto is undefeated. I know there are a ton of Cotto haters out there, who choose to ignore this ****. I for one hope Cotto blasts Clottey and comes back full circle.

 

Dude, I hate Margarito and what he's done, but if you've fought in Nevada, you know that the wrap materials come from the commission and the wrapping is supervised. It is literally impossible for Margarito to have cheated in the Cotto fight.

No question Cotto is superior, he just fought a dumb fight and got upset by a pressure fighter with a great jaw. It happens. But it happened, Cotto has an L and it is next to impossible Tony cheated that night.

 

Until it's proven that he's used those wraps against Cotto, there's nothing you can do about it. Cotto lost to Margarito and that's that dude.

 

IMO, I think Margo used the plaster in the Cotto and maybe even used it before that..Cotto's face was pretty ****ed up and i dont see why Margo would try and use it on Mosley(who he was favored to beat) and not Cotto(who was a undefeated fighter)

totally neutral on this one since i like both cotto and margo but if tony indeed cheated using plaster of paris as the findings suggested, he should be punished severely. and as for people claiming that margo did use it on the cotto fight or any other fight, you cannot really fault them for thinking about it. margarito would forever carry this question marks in his career because of this serious violation.

 

On the other hand, miguel angel has thrown everything he has on margo and margo was just smiling. Margo may have loaded his gloves but I say he's one tough mofo.

 

I've argued this with friends. Margo had the wraps in both the cotto fight, and the cintron rematch before. And probably in a lot before that. The cintron body shot knock out, was brutal without a doubt, but questionable after seeing the performance without the wrap with mosley. Cotto is a far superior boxer, with more power, and he dominated that fight, I was shocked to see him end up like he did, and now we know why. Tony against mosley had no confidence, no superiority, he had nothing but the look of a lost, beaten man. Given that, I am looking foward to Mosleys next fight, it will be a real test of how much he has left.

You do realize that Nevada, where the Margarito-Cotto fight took place, provides the wraps and tape for the fighters?

Meaning, it is next to impossible for them to tamper with that, especially with officials watching.

 

I really think all the questions were answered today to the cotto haters and the margo haters. Yes he used Plaster of Paris. Margarito is a cheat end of the discussion i personally think his punishment shouldve been more. in the case of the cotto fight i agree with eveyone who thinks he used the "margwraps" there. no one can take anything from coto really i mean we can al see the fight as it happened, i have the fight if anyone needs any prove btw, u can see cotto dominating each round until the second part of the sixth round. well duh hes gonna get tired and bruised up, and not have the same power he is supposed to because hes getting hit with bricks. i really cant understand wy people say "oh he didnt hurt margo" well i think he did slightly but it wasnt enough coz he was getting hit not with reaally clear shots but getting hit nontheless with bricks wich at some pont will tire anyone out. i applaud cotto for behaving the way he did in the post fight and continues amongst all this scandal. But we all saw and we all know, the ones who cant see well get some glasses or something please or even ask a litle kid hell give u the answer.

Just accept it: Cotto is a great fighter; he will rebound and be greater than ever. There's no need to cover his ass by pretending he didn't lose.

 

My thoughts? I hope Margo puts on the plaster wraps and beats your ****ing face in.
