Im talking about a Lamon from the Meehan/Golota fight vs the Tua from the Moorer or Lewis fight... Both had explosive style and good power. Thier nicknames sure fit them "Relentless" and "The Terminator" I haven't seen to much of Tua but I seen maybe 2 fight tops. Great power, especially his left hook. Lamon himself has a great left hook. Both fights have good chins. Both fighter have been outboxed by other fighters, I think boxing isn't really much theior thing... Just tactically going out there and hurting your opponent. All I know is that this fight would be explosive. I personally think Brewster would win by points.
Give me Tua. I think Brewster will give first provided that Tua is motivated. If Tua had fulfilled his potential you wouldnt be making this match.
Both have awesome power, both are far too slow to land on a skilled boxer, both have first class chins. I think that prime Tua wins a solid UD with a good workrate, but the Tua of the Moorer fight turns this into a life and death slugfest, with both fighters landing plenty of leather. I think there would be knockouts both ways, and we dont know whether or not Tua has the heart to get up from a knockout. I think he does though and i would give him a close 50.50 call. Probably by knockout in the 10th. Actually, this is one of the reasons why the current era is so poor. Even now, this is a good fight that should be made, and would raise the stock of both fighters. But neither will take it for fear of losing to a good dangerous challenger and both will fight nobodies or lesser fighters instead. It is frustrating. If top contenders dont start fighting each other regularly, the sport will slowly continue to become a minority sport and all the big money fights around at the moment will disappear. This is a very real possibility.
I think it would go a little like Ike-Tua, with the difference that Brewster was no Ike, so he would go down eventually. I doubt Brewster had enough skills to outbox Tua for 10 rounds, but his chin was definitely good enough to make the fight entertaining as long as it lasts. IMO Brewster is way overrated due to his wins over Wlad and Golota. Boilermaker suggests "knockdowns both way", I just do not see Tua going down against someone who couldn't put a dent in Cliff Etienne. In fact, Brewster was hurt and almost down in the 1st round there, which makes me almost sure he wouldn't survive full distance against Tua.
