I don't claim to be an expert per say, but I think the kid has a lot of raw ability and has obviously achieved some significant things in the amature ranks. That being said, I've been semi impressed with him, what do you guys think about his prospects going forward.
He's a bit raw but very promising. Due to not much amateur experience he needs to be moved slowly to boost some morale. Devastating right hand and underdeveloped left. Also he needs to fill out to about 220 or so...
Decent prospect. could see him holding a title at HW. There are 4. But IMO he started in the game too late.
I find this very amusing.... ask people on this forum their opinions on Tyson Fury and you'll have to brace yourself from the endless insults hurled at the man. Ask about Deontay Wilder and you'll get "promising".. Despite the fact that out of all of his opposition (10 fights)., 3 of them had winning records. And two of his opponents have had over 10 fights.... with the remaining 8, individually, not having over 9 fights to their name. But with Tyson Fury - out of his 10 fights, 6 opponents had winning records and only one of his opponents have had under 10 fights. Tyson's younger and doesn't have the amateur career that Wilder has had. So aside from anything anyone has even been able to see with Wilder's professional career.... he looks promising with Fury is a lumbering joke.
I just said they should fight each other next, I didn't make any assessment of either guy. In fact, I said it basically because neither of them has really fought anyone. That said, I will say in rebuttal to your post, there's no viral video of Deontay Wilder landing a textbook uppercut to the middle of his own face.
I wasn't addressing you. I thought about Fury as soon as I saw the thread topic. Regarding him hitting himself - that was just more gasoline to add on the fire. There was already enough bashing of the guy before then.
Understood on the first count. On the second, I'm relatively new to the board so I wouldnt know much about anything before the self-punch. But you gotta admit that it doesn't make the guy look super slick.
I'm quite positive a lot of the bashing comes from his overly pretentious self hyping. If Deontay Wilder was shooting his mouth while demonstrating his green skill, I assure you there would be just as much bashing. As far as I know, Deontay Wilder isn't having "tweet wars" with other boxers.
Well, see, the thing about Fury is that he's simply not very good. At all. Keep in mind that the American circuit that Wilder fights in is a lot better than the British circuit.
