I think people are biased against Fury b/c he punches himself in the face.

Wilder is very raw there is no denying that. But he does have promise and if he isn't rushed to make a big payday than he could turn out to be a good heavyweight. He seems to have a good team behind him and isn't afraid to fight often. He needs rounds though and probably shouldn't be rushed.

The American circuit generally is tougher than the British, correct.
However Wilder has been fighting vastly inferior opposition to Fury.
John McDermott in particular is so far ahead of anyone Wilder has fought it's crazy.

But Fury does indeed run his mouth and because of that draws lots of stick.
He's been tested at a much higher level than Wilder though and being honest despite Wilder's lack of am experience(even though he is an Olympian) the extremely slow rate he's being moved at is disappointing.

Honestly, Farmy? What is your basis for that?

**** fury. Richard Towers, David Price, Tom Dallas and Larry Olubamiwo could all have him. Since we seem to be talking about tall guys here.

In fairness Fury isn't the physical speciman that Wilder is, secondly he did hit himself in the face during a boxing match...I mean seriously, third in his second pro fight he fought a dude in a skirt (Ok it was a kilt, but funny nonetheless). I will say Fury does have decent hand speed for someone so naturally unathletic, but he does seem to lumber around, his jab doesn't have any real pop to it, and his defense doesn't seem to be anything to write home about. That being said, I'm not saying Wilder is the refined product that he could be either, but if I were wagering I would bet that Wilder would beat Fury by a substantial margin.

No need to rush Wilder, he is on 24 and has had just 10 fights, another year or 2 of fighting bums and padding the record won't hurt, just ask Wlad or Vitali how many bums they fought before stepping up.

I say this analyzing him as a fighter and I hope I am completely wrong, but I don't think he will be a HW champ. If so, it will speak more to the weakness of the division than to his talent.

He doesn't seem to be all that coordinated honestly. That isn't something that comes with time either. So "promise" won't fix it. His "coordination" is lacking and it will become obvious when the fatigue of a good fight from a game opponent sets in. I can see him falling across a ring arms flailing or feet crossing up. It is very subtle now because his competition is not very tough, but it will become apparent later.

Even now, he kind of looks "off" sparking out bums. I honestly don't think he could get past a lot of the faded old timers. My guess is that when he wades out into the deep water he will take his lumps.

Kind of reminds me of a Toney Thompson. Nice guy and could always be in the mix, but just doesn't have the athletic ability to take it to the next level.

To be honest, McDermott is far better than anyone Wilder has fought. However, it's only McDermott that is better. The fighters Wilder have thought are probably better than anyone else Fury has fought, including Ellis and Belshaw.

To early to tell. Looks promising, but with his low level of competition he can also become the next Tye Fields. Not saying he will but he still has to step up in competition before we can really say something about it.

Yes, we're not comparing records. In watching them both fight there appears to be a clear disparity in skills between them IMO.

Yes, but he still went to the Olympics and that is invaluable experienced. He's just not getting rounds in, if he's fighting guys with .25 records still but they are making it tough for him, forcing him to break them down and box them fine. I haven't seen many of his fights, but from the looks of the guys he's fighting, knocking dudes out in a minute I don't feel is the experienced he should be getting.
