This is going to be a good fight for Dirrell and he's taking the neccessary steps to climb the ranks. I'm sure that he knocks this guy out and soon to be in title contention within next year.

Or this could be Amir Khan all over again?

Other than Zuniga, to whom he lost, has Oganov fought anyone who is not an absolute tomato can?

He hasn't fought anyone but he has grown accustom to winning by knock out and believes in his power ... you have to have some kinda respect for his power ... just like Khan ... Prescott has no notable fighters on his resume yet he knocked Khan out - because Khan didn't have any respect for his power.

No he hasnt, Zuniga was his first step up really and was handed a beatdown and KOd by Zunigas sweet left hook......I expect Dirrel to hand out a similar beating......I think Dirrels chin is decent

Well fitz, stylistically Oganov makes Prescott look like Sugar Ray Leonard....that is the all important difference......Sure Oganov has power but anyone with mediocre skills along with mediocre power will beatem

I don't disagree but with a guy like that you have to be aware that he does have power and a mistake of any kind can be a crucial one.

I know I've seen Dirrell on ESPN, but I'll be damned if I remember the specifics. He can box a bit can't he? I'm asking because Zuniga beat Oganov by being a better bully, but I think anyone with solid fundamentals would beat Oganov as well.

I certainly hope so:good I don't see any reason why not, they're both up and coming contenders in the same division. It would be a great fight "Battle of the Andres"

No way. They'll do it eventually, but it will be no less than a title eliminator. I doubt they'll want to fight each other anyway if there isn't a lot of money on the table, since they're close friends.

Thats a B.A.D headliner right there ... two former olympians, both medalist, and both trying to take that next step.

Dirrell has a solid skillset, can really crack and is developing nicely....If Oganov learned how to jab or maybe learned some defensive skills(movement, guard) I would give Oganov more of a chance

You guys are probably right. If Dirrell/ward ever happens, it probably won't be until after both fighters have outgrown FNF.
