I just think its the bull**** narrative him and Sky spin all the time. They have built a bubble where Matchroom is the ONLY thing in boxing and all their fighters are 'Wooooooorld Class' when i reality they have 1 maybe 2 world class fighters. This has just bred idiots who arent boxing fans but will tell you how Connor Benn and Ohara davis are going to be elite! Thats all because of the bull**** they get fed. No interest in other boxers and even laugh at pictures of empty seats! Like thats a good thing, because it isnt matchroom! I could go on but you get the picture
Well I'm American so I'm not keen on all the goings on with Matchroom and Sky, I can certainly see your point of view a little better now that you have explained your problem with him. I usually just read from people that hate him that he's a mug, or a poss, with no explanation given as to why they think he is. I only know of him what I see on IFL TV YouTube interviews, and he comes off like a nice, funny, caring of his fighters, down to earth type guy that just happens to have a really cool high profile job that he happens to be one of the best in the world at.
Dont underestimates Sky's influence in all this. They are the ones ultimately who Hearn reports to. They have more of a say in what goes on than you think.
I don't see how you can really hate on Hearn, Well unless you're just a hater... He's helped push boxing back into the mainstream in the UK, he pays the fighters on time and they are all earning shed loads of money. He sells his fighters to the max even if they are bang average, he's a good salesman. But what I really like about the guy is what he's doing with people like Masher Dodd, Dave Allen and Dillian Whyte. Masher and Dave will probably never get a world title fight let alone win one but because they came and did the business on his show, he's giving them guys a chance to earn a nice bit of money and backing them. That just goes to show there is a bit of heart there with him, its not always about the bottom line.
Things I learned in this thread. 1. We love Eddie Hearn. 2. He gets to bum guys. 3. He's slippery. Slippery bum lover and boxing. What a combination.
